Yes, if you use a VM.

Get a Windows XP Pro VM, you'll be good. Personally I recommend just getting an el-cheapo dedicated laptop off Craigslist for it. Doesn't need to be anything fancy.

I took over my mom's old Dell that she didn't want and turned it into a coding machine

I run a MacBook Pro with XP SP3 x86 in a Parallels VM and it has worked perfectly thus far. I love the VM route personally as it's great for making backups, prototyping setups, etc.

Im using windows 7 through bootcamp on my macbook air. everything has been coded fine so far and no errors that I wouldn't normally get. no reason to spend any more money on a cheap laptop or anything like that

I have Boot camp run natively in XP for inpa, NCS expert, etc.

Currently trying to figure out how to do VM working within XP boot camp in order to run ista-d and -p. Pleasantly surprised at speed of VM running off my usb.

Learning from that I can say don't believe the scare stories, windows 7 as 64 bit is fine for inpa and NCSExpert in compatibility mode.

Actually required if you want to run an ista VM under that windows installation because it requires 2GB you need 64 bit. That is because windows cannot address more than 4Gb with 32 bits, after giving a load of address space to your Graphics memory it only leave about 2GB addressable real memory which isn't enough for a big VM

I'm running Windows 7 inside VMware Fusion. Works great so far with INPALOAD for checking and clearing codes. Haven't tried NCSEXPER yet. I'm using the One Stop Electronics cable too.

Can someone PM me for help even getting started? I purchased a cable from another member, but every link I have found to downloading software is now dead or some shading corner of the internet. I have tried searching google, the other forums, another one I found bm*coders, etc. and can't find a place to download all the pieces of software I need. Thanks.
