Rev for Iphone delayed again!

Thought those of us who are waiting may have missed yesterday's update:

Quote:
Greetings again to our mailing list and customers. Many of you have
inquired about the delayed release of Rev, and we'd like to give you
an update.
The first version of Rev software is ready to go. The software has
been tuned, tested and primed for release. Our iPhone Developer
account transition finally completed last week (after far too long),
and we were able to get access again to the tools we need to ship Rev.

As we were preparing Rev to ship to the App Store, we uncovered a
complication with the ElmCanII-WLAN device that we sell through our
DevToaster Store. The nature of the problem is related to the network
latency from the ElmCanII to the iPhone/iPod touch's WiFi hardware,
and that problem considerably degrades the performance of Rev while
monitoring real-time data on the iPhone/iPod touch. All the
functionality is working, but we are not happy with the data rates we
are seeing from the device.

We have been working very hard with the manufacturer to come up with a
solution, and we are optimistic an update to the ElmCanII-WLAN's
firmware will fix the problem. The ElmCanII-WLAN can be updated via
its web interface, and as soon as we have a fix we will ship that fix
to all existing customers along with easy-to-follow instructions.

We sincerely apologize for the delay on Rev. However, we firmly
believe it would not be responsible or honest of us to our customers
to release the Rev software while this hardware problem is not yet
solved. We ask you again for your patience, and to understand we are
working hard to release a quality product to you.

That being said, we understand this is frustrating. If you have
purchased the ElmCanII-WLAN hardware and we have extended your
patience too far, you can ship your working device and OBD cable back
to DevToaster and we will give you a full refund with no restocking
fee. E-mail us at supp...@devtoaster.com to get the process started.

While you're reading, let's look forward a little bit: Users of Rev
Lite can expect a free update soon which will communicate with OBD-II
WLAN hardware. The new Rev Lite will connect to the device (attached
to your vehicle) and display which OBD-II sensor metrics are available
for your vehicle. We think this will help customers get a better idea
of what to expect from their vehicle and OBD-II WLAN hardware without
having to purchase the full version of Rev.

Again, we sincerely apologize for the delays in Rev. We want to make
sure our release meets our customers' expectations. If you have any
questions, as always, feel free to e-mail us directly at
found...@devtoaster.com.

The money is spent, I don't care. Once it comes out.. it comes out. At this point any more delays doesn't really matter, its been long enough.

I am looking forward to this coming out too. but with so many other products that are hyped too early, the waits can be too long. sometimes new things come out in the meantime. products become outdated.
