shadowline scratches
picked up my black 335d M sport a month or so ago, noticed fort the first time today scratches running along the top of the shadowline trim on the drivers side. whilst not too noticable (i didn`t when i cleaned it last week), i know they`re there! couldn`t prove i took delivery like that, the car is an 09.
is there any way of touching this up, or am i better leaving well alone? thanks guys. |

The shadowline trim is metal painted with a high gloss black paint, you can restore it in the same way you would restore any painted car surface with a mildly abrasive polish, it would be difficult but not impossible to use a machine so hand application would be best, after you've tried that if its not restored to your liking try a more abrasive polish, there are sealants out there that have the ability to some extent to fill swirls/scratches, finish with wax...good luck!

Any recommendation of what black gloss paint to use?
I have notice that on one side the paint appears to worn way on the edge of my shadow black trim in a few small places, so think of applying some touch-up paint to use ands apply via a small paint brush. |

The car is 4 years old. It is not going to be perfect. If you want a perfect one, but it brand new. Otherwise, you can use a scratch/rubbing compound remover by hand, replace the whole trim piece or repaint it.

My local bodyshop gave me a small pot of abrasive compound to remove the watermarks on the shadowline, it also removes light scratches, unfortunately I've no idea what it is, but it seems similar to Farecla G10 if that helps
