Probably 20min or so, if you have to jack the car up and so on....
If you have a lift....maybe 5min?

Splash shield? you mean the plastic covering underneath the car covering the engine bottom?
There are like 25 screws including in the front bumper. With my cordless compact impact driver, I can get it out off in like 2-3 minutes. Then put it all back in 4. How the hell does it take an hour? |

I am going to have my car on the lift and it costs extra I believe for me to rent power tools. Is it worth renting an impact driver to remove those screws faster if I am paying by the hour for the lift? |

Just take a cordless screwdriver or drill with you. As others have said, there are alot of screws but you should have it off in about 20 min or so if its your first time doing it.
good luck |

The is a big difference between book time and actual time on many jobs.

Okay just to be accurate, there are 16 screws, all 8MM head. After the car is in the air where you can get to the screws, with an electric screw gun and an 8MM socket, it should take no longer than 2 - 3 minutes to remove and about 5 minutes to reinstall.

You are forgetting it takes time to get the car on a lift and remove it. All labor shops round up so that sounds pretty typical. You are not charged for just removing the pan it is getting the paperwork, walking to the car, etc etc.
I am guessing that is what Pelican had in mind... |
