Anyone else receive HPFP recall from BMW Canada?
Just received the HPFP recall letter today from BMW Canada. Looks like they are starting to admit the problem.
Is there a certain time period this needs to be done? Because my car is in storage and won't be out till March/April. Would they not fix it if I waited till then? |

I will post the letter tomorrow.
Also mention that they may reset the engine control unit. Damn. So for those who is getting it done that means Dinan will need to be reflashed. |

For those interested here's a copy of the letter from BMW.
I checked with local dealer and asked them how this will affect the Dinan reflash and they said once the new program is uploaded they will also upload the latest version of the tune. All at no cost to the owner. |

Are we all getting the recall notices 2007-2010 335 models? Or only specific VIN's?

I also don't see any mention of injectors like they have in the US recall. I already had 3 of my injectors and spark plugs replaced under warranty.
Would be nice to replace remaining 3 if this recall will include injectors in Canada as well. |

No recall notice but went in to fix a flat and they told me about it and I had my pump replaced last week. Took alllll day.
They also did a software "control" recall?

They did a software upgrade three months ago and I think I am on my way to the 3rd pump soon. Long crank when starting in cold and unstable rpm with disgusting smell.

got my letter going in tomorrow for the recall, cant imagine dealers making any fuss about mods when its a recall issue. still wouldn't wanna get flagged though but hopefully the dealers can turn a blind eye to this one. cant wait JB4 with a new fuel pump!! when are the roads gonna be summer tires worthy!!!

So this recall is not only for the pump but injectors as well? May as well give me a new motor
Did you guys see the thread about BMW extending pump warranty to 200,000 kms? That sounds good to me. |

I didn't get a recall letter however when I booked my annual service my SA said I had an outstanding programming recall that needed to be done. Probably the same deal...

Just got the recall done...Took about 1 day...they kept it overnight for a cold start test in the morning.
I had the fuel pump replaced, and the software update. For those of you with a iDrive and did the software update, did anything changed? Initially, my iDrive looked different, it had a menu option for Office, and local news. But then I lost my Satellite radio option. They fixed the Sat. radio issue, but then my iDrive looks like the old one...the Office/news menu were gone. BTW - I got a 323i as a loaner....and all I have to say was that after just 1 day in the 323, made me appreciate my 335i so much more.. |
