320d battery help

I need a new AGM battery for a 320d efficient dynamics model and contacted the stealers who were looking for between €356 and €407 for a bmw battery depending on how many amps I require.

I have priced other brand AGM batteries and I can get a Banner battery for €185 and a Varta one for about €205. I have looked through a number of posts about batteries but have seen very little information on brands of batteries that are been used instead of oem ones. Has anybody used another brand of AGM battery and how are they getting on with them?

No idea what's available in Ireland. What you probably DO want, is one with the same or more cold cranking amps and the same shape/size. Also, when the thing is replaced, you do need to tell the computer that it has been replaced, and the size, should it change. The computer uses that to help determine how to charge the battery (an older one wouldn't use the same recharge levels). Unless you have the reprogramming cable, software, and knowledge, you'll need to pay someone to do that for you or the new battery won't last as long as it should.

Thanks for that. I will probably go with the Banner. I have an Indy who will code it for me straight after I install it.
