No joke trying to cram my hand into the E93 headlight housing I got all scratched up and even drew some blood.

Tip: just trying to screw on the lights with your fingertips isn't gonna cut it, you gotta get all up in there, put some pressure on the bulb and turn with a good grip. It looks me 1.5hrs to get the first one and after that was able to do the other one in 1/2 hour.

For you E92/E93 people out there, the first few posts on this thread has some good pictures to locate the headlight housing if you aren't familiar under the hood:

After it's all said and done, I'm happy with the purchase and the results looks good. No issues after a test drive, no error codes or flickering issues. Lets just hope they last a lifetime, I do not want to change bulbs again if I can help it.
Took me 2 hours to install mine too! My large hands were cramping bad! Had to sit down, have a beer, and count to 10. Persistence paid off and they look awesome.

You guys are scaring me... It boggles my mind how something like that could take 2 hours! In my mind, it's just twist off old bulb, then twist on new bulb!

The install guide could use a few more pics for the "T" marking trick (which I should have taken but I'm not going back in there now that they're in haha). As I read the guide, I thought that I should orient the LUX the way it looked in the pics and put a mark on the heat sink directly above that tab. In reality, that did not work, but these steps should:

1. Look at the orientation of the terminal on your stock bulbs when they come out of the housing (the driver side comes out with the terminal basically straight up, the passenger side comes out with the terminal turned about 90 degrees to the right as you look into the housing).

2. Orient the stock bulbs the way they were when they came out and look at the "T". Make the "T" on the Lux match up with the stocker, then place a small mark on the top dead center of the heat sink so you can see it when the bulb is inside of the housing.

3. With the mark dead on top you can get very close to having each one lined up when they go in, then when you feel it "seat" reasonably, just put your fingers in the back or bottom of the heat sink and push in slightly while turning them to the left.

4. Try to get a reasonable grip on heatsink and turn it to the left enough to make sure it's secure.

Once I figured that out it took me about 15 minutes to do the whole install, and it was very straight forward. They look great! I'll post some pics of them tomorrow!

By turning to the left, you mean right (clockwise) in the direction the lights are pointing, right?

facing the headlights, bulbs in, tabs lined up and in their slots...both bulbs should be turned to the left/passenger side to tighten/secure....

it's really not that hard guys, just do the opposite of what you did to take the OEM bulbs out...like myself and the member above stated, use the OEM bulbs last position when removing to line up the heatsinks of the lux bulbs...

seriously, just twist the light bulbs

The e90 lci access from the top is very awkward! Almost impossible to get a grip on the heatsink.

Garage List
I ended up doing pretty much what was mentioned above for the DS that was giving me problems.

If you look at the LUX there are (3) tabs: (1) larger size tab with a ramp on one side, (1) larger tab with straight sides, & (1) smaller tab with a ramp.

On my car, after looking how the other lights were oriented when they came out - the smaller tab with the ramp needed to be at the 12 o'clock position when inserted prior to turning clockwise (when looking at the light from the rear - turn to left when looking at front of car).

Seems to me that the o-ring design seal was giving me problems getting the light to seat fully in before turning. My old style Lux had a different type of 'flap' rubber seal (as well as the myriad of halogen bulbs that I have tried).

I also ended up using a small bladed screwdriver in one of the slots of the cooling ribs on the body to push the light into the housing, then used another screwdriver against the notches in the light body to turn the light to lock.

I got the PS to go right in just by hand.

Yes i know unstalling these is a pain, the E92's are much easier then the e90 LCI headlights due to the angel and amount of room. If you are luckly you can get either one instaleld in about 2-3 minutes Just remember that the LUX H8 goes in the same way that the halogen bulb comes out.

sorry, as stated earlier by me, not a fan of pics of AE set-ups, you never are able to catch the actual brightness of them on film...hopefully someone local to you has these and you can see them for yourself...

here's some recently posted tho: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...9&postcount=25
