N55 DME Software Updates.

Well it has come to our attention that bmw has been upgrading the DME as of late, and pretty rapidly if I do say so myself.

According to BMS their jb+ will not work with DME 2.40 and later if I remember correctly.

Anyone else had their dme updated?

I am running 2.42 which I upgraded last week and it appears that 2.43 just came out in the past few days.

It should. From what I have read it appears bmw might have given us a bit more power. But I haven't ran it without my procede.

okay with some help.
here's the bulletin for the
"15731 RECALL" - OPEN CAMPAIGN SIB 12 22 10

PDF attached.

it doesn't explain what the parameters were used per
version. it says to use version 2.39.2 or later to fix it.
anyone with info per versions 2.40, 2.41, 2.42 and 2.43?

I wonder if you reap the full benefit immediately after your DME is updated?

Quite a few changes mostly for the better. They removed one of the limits that was holding the JB N55 Stage1 tuning down at around +3psi. With the new update it's working well up to +6.5psi over stock with a simple firmware change. On the negative side the changes prohibits the N55 JB+ from making much more than stock boost. So it won't be making it out of BETA testing.

what version of the dme update were these tunes running or tested?

Ernie you said with your update (2.42) it felt better stronger with the procede-
you must of had pre 2.40.
Does the procede software identify the software version - or BT tool.

The Procede doesn't recognize software. There hasn't been a need to since it controls throttle and boost absolutely and not through offsets.

thank's for clarify'n that Shiv.

would u say any update past 2.40 from bmw would be fine with
the procede? I'm try'n to figure if there is any hindrance with these
software updates. Seems from end users there's nothing crazy to worry bout.

would it be safe to say these N55 updates are good with
the tune.

So for instance, my new car which has not been built yet and will presumably come equipped with latest software.. when I install jb3 stg1 (which I already have), will it take full advantage of the new DME code?

Hello Mike,

How much WHP do you think a stock 335I/N55 would make with the new bmw software and JB stage 1 ? Thanks

I just took my 335i coupe in to get the DME update and they did not apply a sticker either. Maybe the sticker is an optional thing for the dealership to do?

Yesterday I made sure I had the newest DME and then tweaked my N55 Stage I from 2.25 psi over stock to 4 psi over stock...it's made a pretty significant difference
