Would I even care if my old 325xi can't beat an Accord or Camry or Mustang or Camaro? I get them every now and then at the traffic light wanting to race. I just look at them and say "B" "M" "W".
and no matter the outcome of the race, I win. Same thing a kid down the street said, look at my new Camaro! With the ghetto lambo door mod. okay....when it gets repo'd this winter, we'll see who is driving to work in the snow and who is taking the bus. |

I've had my E93 328i for about 3.5 years now. Great car and I love it. Surprisingly, it's also been my most trouble-free car so far! The 328i was my first BMW.
Love the 335i and didn't want to give my loaner ones back (got to borrow a E92 335i and E90 335xi). Was thinking about getting an E92 335is, but I don't really want to deal with possible HPFP issues, so I went a different route when I put my order in for my next BMW last Monday. |

haha, took me a second to figure out what badge you were talking about (old cop here). nah, I was going to purchase the new Camaro but they still weren't released yet and I needed something good in the winter as well. I'm getting a Camaro ZL-1 when they come out as my summer car.
I've had every generation camaro except the 1st. |

To be honest I just kinda stumbled into my 328xi. I was looking at other cars, and decided to give BMW a shot. My brother was pushing me to test drive the 335i or the 135i just based off of performance. I didnt want awd and I was looking at sedans prior to my stop at BMW. I went to BMW and decided to test drive an e90 328, to see if it was as unbearably slow as my brother claimed it would be. I was actually surprised, it was decently quick. I saw the e92 while I was walking around the lot and loved the look. The salesman told me I should give the awd a chance, gave me the key fob and said I could take it to a nearby parking lot to try it out. I guess he knew it would sell itself, cause I ended up buying the car. I work out of town for about 6 months a year and am home during the winter. So the AWD will probably come in handy. According to BMW.ca's current CPO list (when I got my car) I managed to get the lowest price in Canada for what was available in that model/year. So far my first BMW experience has been good and I will be a return customer if this keeps up.

My DD is an S2000. Highway ramps are as easy as driving straight. F1 Genes. But my father owns a 328i and I have the honor of taking care of it in reward for driving it.. 328i's are nothing but masterpieces. People really do not give them the credit they deserve. And trust me, attention to all N54 drivers... They have more power than you think.. Never underestimate a modded N52... #win |

This is a great car period. I don't really like the fact that people that own them are always justifying the reason for having one. If you truly are happy with you car like I am don't give in to the 335 owners thoughts. They might be the faster car in THIS SECTION of the forum, but there are many many cars out there that will rape them (and us) lol. I truly believe it's an age thing. I don't give a crap that young people own BMWs, but honestly do you think it's the guys that are 30+ on here talking crap about the 328? No, it's the 21 year old with their first fast car. So easy to tell the difference because it's always the SAME guys. You know someone is not a kid when they themselves own a 335 and will defend the 328.
I honestly wish we all cut the crap here. I like this forum, but too much time is wasted on "my car is better than yours". How are you a BMW enthusiast if you're going to bash anything that doesn't have a turbo? Yes, that's right they even bash the M3 at times I mean COME ON! |

These games are played no matter what forum you are on. Back in the day if you had a Civic Ex/Lx(110hp?), those with the Civic Si (160hp) looked down their noses and scoffed. V8 Mustang owners scoff at the V6 crowd, call them chick cars and oh the shame if you drive and auto vs stick. But, the V8 crowd knows their place if someone with a Cobra steps into the room. Starting to sound familiar? Blah Blah Blah So you drive a 335, M3, Ferrari, Porsche, Space Shuttle. Good for you.

I think in the end it comes down to people's personal preferences for purchasing a vehicle. I see based on a lot of these comments that a lot of people are just badge whores and purchased their car simply because it is a BMW (especially the dude talking down the guy in the Camaro). I own a 335i but I would have bought a Mitsubishi just as quick if my particular BMW didn't have the N54 engine. I, for one bought a 335i because it has BMW's first motor that provides the owner the ability to tune it and gain over 80 hp with a simple $500 tune. I feel like that is what a lot of 335i owner appreciate about their cars especially if you read the tuning section below. As I've stated before my preference for buying this car was a unique combination of performance and luxury that no other vehicle offered at the time. Now, for everybody this may not be the case but I can tell you if it wasn't for that engine and the performance characteristics I would have never wound up in a BMW. It seems like a lot of people are bitter for the wrong reasons.

I for one got a 328 because I'm 18 and a 335 would've been to expensive for me and it also gives me something to work forward to for my next car in 4-5 years.

As a 328i owner I'm currently enjoying the last of a dying breed of the naturally aspirated kind before I'm dragged kicking and screaming to the new turbos. I commute approximately 80 miles per day with long stretches, on and off ramps and some twisties and even after a year with this car I still look forward to this drive everyday. It literally brings a smile to my face each time I rev this NA engine up to 7000 rpms. At some point I'll trade up to a newer turbo model when these go extinct but not before I try that sweet high revving/smooth V8 of the current M3. Then I'll be able to tell my kids about the days when I had smooth linear acceleration up to redline
Long live the 328i
