Those in cold weather areas: Did you take off your custom rims?
I had planned to before the weather got bad, but never did, partly because I would have to buy 4 new tires for my stock rims. Who here has gone through a whole winter season with custom wheels, and what effect if any did if have on your rims?

If you live in an area where they put salt on the roads then the finish on your wheels will start to corrode. What kind of wheels are they and what finish?

I would suggest to keep your wheels clean from salt. It might eat off the clear coat on your machined face if you leave it unclear for a long period of time.

It never hurts to get a stock set and throw blizzaks on. I take my spring and summer set up off usually the first week of November. Then run grandma stocks till the end of march

We have customers that use our wheels through winter without much of an issue, but the salt is definitely pretty brutal on a set of wheels. If you're not cleaning them regularly, you could expect to see the results after a while. Winter beaters are always a plus.

I like the beyern mesh wheels so I got a set for the spring/summer and another for the fall/winter. The guys here are right that salt will start to eat off your clear coat.

+1 .. I did this two winters ago and got a pretty good set with tires which were barely used for 400 bucks. This the 3rd winter using them and they're still going strong!
