Valentine 1 effectiveness
Since new radar tech has been coming out over the years, I'm just wondering how effective radar detectors are now specifically the V1. I'm gonna be doing a lot of long distance highway driving starting in a few months, so I'm curious to see if V1's still read the radar bands used my CHP.

it definitely works. You just need to understand its capabilities to properly use it. It will portect against cops that are using a ka band radar gun. It doesn't do much for laser. Just tells you when you've been shot and its already too late by then. You need to get a laser jammer to solve that issue. I turn x band off and k band on automute so it doesn't make much noise around town either

lol i thought if you had under 4 jammers, it was just a ticket? but 4 or more was a misdemeanor? But with a laser jammer, the idea is to slam your brakes when ur v1 goes off, and when you get to a safe speed, turn the jammer off so the cops can read your speed

That seems like so much work to do while driving especially if your alone lol.
All i know is that laser guns go much farther than radar and if the V1 goes off the laser gun already read your speed. So I'm guessing that there's really no way to get out of it even with a jammer cause the cop would realize you have the jammer. I could be wrong but I don't plan on finding out if it works lol. |

Once you get hit to slow down? Once you're hit, they already have your speed reading, so what is the point of slowing down and then turning it off if they already got your speed? It already happened. So what are you trying to accomplish by doing that? Make the cop think his laser detector is broken?

I ended up closing the deal on one and I'm picking it up Tuesday. I probably won't do a hardwire on it right away until i know I'll be using it as much as i expect to. For non-hardwire setups, where do you guys put? Near the rear view mirror, drivers side of the windshield or in the dash where the cents are.
I'm kinda leaning towards the dash setup cause I could use the outlet in the passenger side below the glove compartment. Curious to what non-hardwire setups people have. |

v1 works good, saved my ass plenty of times, till I got lasered last year, but there's nothing that can really defend against that as stated above
