Congrats on the purchase. I assume you got the Premium package at least?

It's hard to get money off a car that hasn't been released yet or you just didn't know how to negotiate right.

I agree with you about the alarm issue but that is like one of the way where the dealer makes you money. I didn't know it was standard myself but I would try to negotiate the price of installation before getting the car

Good luck

Atleast get some goodies at dealer cost. That is the price for being one of the first buyers for a new car. Buy the alarm cheap and have them install it for free.

At 46k, why don't you go with the 335i and option it a bit less. I think the turbo will be far more rewarding than a rear view mirror with a compass!

There is no hatin! But for what you paid I would've chosen the 335 over the 328. Some of the options on the 328 are standard on the 335. Did you use the BMW CCA discount? Either way happy that you are happy with your choice.

sorry, didn't think we were hatin...just on who's paying for the car...if your Dad is, then maybe he should voice his concerns on this forum. If you are, we all feel for you and your perception that the dealer is making a few dollars on you for a car that is in demand.
In any case, let's kiss and make up...peace, brother :rocks:

Next time. The discount applies when you have been a member for atleast a year and there are certain options that you must order to get the discount. Your order would've qualified since you got the major options but since you are not a member you will have to wait until another time. Check it out online and you get discounts on parts and other stuff. You also get Roundel an awesome magazine. The membership is only $40 a year.

I didn't notice you paid 46k for a well optioned 328i coupe. I would definitely consider the 335i!

Black cars tend to look their best when washed. Black cars require more cleaning than any other color IMO. I have AW and had other white cars for the last 10 years and find it easy to keep clean or appear clean. I spend about 2 hours each week just washing it. I don't know what you do but time might be an issue for you or maybe not. The right products will help with the swirls. Black and in Texas could cause for one hot car. I mean it in the temperature sense.

here's my 2 cents- why not do ED??? OMG if you're gonna pay MSRP for the car and NOT BEING ABLE TO GET IT UNTIL AT LEAST OCTOBER, why not do ED and save yourself $4,000 AND get a trip to EUROPE???? You dont even have to stay there for long.

I know it's your money so that's just my opinion. But I think everyone would do ED if they can save that much money, especially with cars that arent even out yet.

don't pay sticker!!!

if it's not too late, start over at another dealer or rework the deal on a 335

there's no reason to pay msrp for any BMW even a newly released one

congrads on the car, but get the big motor even if you have to deal with a few less options

For $46K, you should be able to get a fairly well optioned 335. Many of the options of the 328 are standard on the upper level model (similar to the 325 vs 330). Just quickly looking at the numbers, if you throw in an extra $500 (or get $500 off at another dealer), you can get a 335i with navigation, sport package, premium package, and metalic paint (I don't know if you need the cold weather package in your area, and hopefully you can do without steptronic).

Either way, I would recommend further negotiation.
