maybe now people can post in this thread My dealership blacklist has become a general chat thread for some reason

mpower just wondering if you went to Scotts Audi for the test drive like i did a while ago? I hope you remember me telling you about how sweet the car was to drive As for depreciation its doing better then the e92 335 coupe (wheels mag stated 66% for 3.2L tt compared to 335 which is 63%) redbook predicted resale rating after 3 years.

Sadly - they all depreciate

You can wait and buy a three year old car - thing is nobody wants second hand - thus they depreciate even faster than they used to.

depreciation starts to shallow out as the car gets older (unless it is a classic)

the newer it is, the faster it looses value

and on another note; wooo some of my car parts are nearly here!!!

Just buy the new HSV GTS-R hopefully released by the time the Melb motor show starts This car will be a beast (LS7 donk) and surely will be a highly sought after car many years later just like Fords GTHO.

No way. HSV's are notoriously hopeless for resale and they constantly release new models every 2 years and minor tweaks every year in between.

Haven't you heard the running joke, how do you spell depreciation? "S-T-A-T-E-S-M-A-N"

Cars aren't good investments, they are there simply to be driven and enjoyed. There are vastly better was to make money than having a stab at the dart board on future classics IMO.

I agree about Holdens depreciation being terrible but the GTS-R is a 100 car production only. The previous GTS-R is over a 100k from what i heard recently. Its not much but it is going up in price every year nevertheless.

No one is saying that a car is a better "investment" then property... We all know cars are to be driven and enjoyed - that's why we have all found our way to the forums, to talk to others with this similar interest.

And we all know, i am sure, that we can't "take a stab at" guessing the classics to come. Twas a joke

Totally.

It'd be cool if they actually go through and make it and its not just a concept car etc. HSV are a bit of a joke when it comes to things like that. They lost face with a lot of loyal customers when they pulled the pin on the 427 at the last second after they took deposits and even created a clothing/accessories range.

Just a lot of concepts and never any real action from them with Anniversy models and limited editions rolling out all the time.

This is a true story ...

Back in 1971 my father purchased a brand new XY Falcon 500 and I was there on pick up day and our car was in the show room next to a GTHO. Our car $2900 and the HO at $4300. I was drolling at the HO and telling dad that we got the wrong one. If only he had listened to me. Who said that kid know nothing !!!!!

I didn't want to start a thread on this so i thought id post my question here.
I was just wondering after breaking in period(335) at approximately 1800k, when do i have my oil change? When i asked service this question they said 15000k service covers it. I know these cars go through a fair bit of oil and am confused to whether they need a oil change after you run them in. How did you guys with the 335's handle the oil change?

Just left it, its under warranty and thats what they recommend. It's only the M cars that require a 2000km oil change as they are built with tighter tolerances and are essentially race engines when you look at them in pieces.

I changed mine at 5K and 10K; that said I do drive it hard (proceed since about 2K).

Oil can be bought anywhere as long as you get LL2 approved stuff, you will need 5.5L. Approx $100 for Mobil fully synthetic.

Filter from BMW is about $40.

I then took it to my local Midas to do the actual work (I don't have ramps at home so figured it would be easier that way). Watch the mechanic's face when he looks for the dip stick and then just tell him to fill it with 5.5L of oil. They charged me $40.

Just wanting to know how people have tracked (status from factory to delivery of the car) there cars after they ordered them. I thought it was through BMW Owners Circle but when i asked they said its not through us. Ive been wanting to check the status of my car for a while but need to be pointed in the right direction.

^ yep. My dealer said they are taking orders for A$80K + on roads. If the released price is higher, they will absorb the difference and if it's cheaper then they will pass on the saving. They cant loose either way can they. If it comes in cheaper then they are only going to give you RRP and the other way will only minimally eat into their proffit margin. First delivery and official release in Australia is 19th May.

I received a letter in the mail to attend the lanch of the 135i coupe at the Brisbane Motor Show the other day. Deffinitly going to take them up on the offer to attend.
