So, after deciding I needed a v8 in my life I got my head turned by a certain m3 on autotrader. Weeks or so later the 335d had a friend on the drive. Been visiting m3 cutters but don't want to lose links with uk e90 post so thought I'd keep a thread running on here as during my 335d ownership your support and advice has been tops.

08 plate 6 speed with 25k mileage.

This is the 335d ( that really I should be doing a for sale ad instead of doing this!)

Any way, thought I'd start a thread as a few plans for it, over the next couple of months. Need to shift the 335d really to free up the cash but have bought a couple of bits...

Ordered these ready for pick up ( 15mm bimmec all round)

That helped to fatten the stance. Will be changing wheels but temp fix. Did this as soon as got home!

Had a few beers and tempted by price bought an exhaust so 2 days later, on the ramps,

Fitment was superb and boy does it burble. Proper v8 sound. Drones a bit at 70 but fine at 80. Will post a sound clip. This is a temporary exhaust, as once the 'big d' goes an eisenmann race will be joining us. I also have a full decat pipe, that I will be adding some 200cell racing cats to it and them adding a remap. (Be couple of months before this)

And as you may have noticed added lci rear lights. Ordered before car arrived. Tempted to nick the ones of the 335d but didn't!

Ordered from Germany. Brand new oem for 360 inc delivery.

Car had a misfire when I bought it so booked into local BMW indie and £130 later had a new coil pack and coded rear lights to boot.

Last mod after a week of ownership was taking my lux angel eyes and fitting them. For nearly £200 quid no way these were being sold!

Some big plans as love the 335d looks and pace, and the m3 looks a bit meeh! ( and feels slow!)( at low revs)

Nick, both looking great, although I'm not keen on the rear high level roof spoiler on the 335d, but both cars do look stunning in their own right

Congrats ..... You're very fortunate, please for you

The exhaust certainly looks the part. Is it a full system or axle back? You will have to let me know how much you want for it when you get the eisenmann. I saw in one of your other posts did you only pay about 250 for it or something ridiculous. Any performance increase? Sound clip?

It's funny looking at an M3 and thinking it looks too reserved, due to a 335d sitting in front of it! B)

I just love the power dome bonnets!

Both are great in their own way Nick, have to say on the 335d when you go for it boy you really do go for itit looks very intimidating you're very brave to of pushed the envelope on this but hats off to you as the end result is certainly very individual.

Im especially a fan of the wheels on the 'D' in terms of style and the way their finished as style wise they are a mirror image of what I was looking at for my 335i. Having previously had a set of genuine set of 19" BBS CH's on my old E46 330d with the genuine red centres I know just how special these wheels are and look. Incidentally they look to me like 20's

But look forward to seeing you on Monday with a nice Sport steering wheel in tow

Oh and the M3's a bit tasty too

Love the wheels on the 335d.
I know, I'm enjoying dirty driving! Clean the d within an inch of its life so nice to keep this one dirty for now. Not keen on the colour tbh ( Jerez black, I'd say blue). A vinyl wrap will sort this soon and I'll get back to cleaning

Know what you mean. I ponder this as they just dont compare at the moment but its an M3! It's the beginning of a project so going different route but still should stand out!

Thanks Skelts. Do ponder keeping them but the m3 is hoping to be more moody with black wheels.

Not noticeable just from changing back box. Think you have to change the cats on these to get any performance increase. Not sure what make. A custom full stainless.

Axle back, although it comes with a full de cat pipe. Paid 320 inc post and the full x pipe. No noticeable performance but sounds good. Bit of drone at 70 but fine at other speeds, and if below 3k you can hear it but not anti social. I'll keep it when I get the eisenmann as sold my oem one but look on eBay, as some go for bargain prices.

Know what you mean, m looks a bit dull! The bonnet is the best bits of the styling IMO.

Little Update. Some wheels have arrived from chris ( forum sponsor on m3 cutters). Superb service.

These may not be the final set of wheels but I do like them I must admit. The oem 19s really need 2 new tyres, so thought I'd change them now, and sell the 19s!

20" csl style in 20s, 10" rears 9" fronts in gloss back.

Should get the tyres mounted this week :muttley:

^^^ Excellent cars. Liked your white 335D.

re: wheels;
can standard E92 be fitted with 20 inches wheels or is it something special for M3 E92?

Thanks Mak. 20s will be fine on e92. The 20s on my 335d would fit a e92 no probs. it's all to do with the offsets. This why I run 30 mm spacers on the 335 to fill the wider m3 arches.
