Understanding there are multiple variables when it comes to dyno runs. but on an average, does a 227hp average (3 runs) sound right for a 2007 E92 335i (July 2007 production)? i am very green to this as you can tell.

Dyno Dynamics Dyno (updated last year)
4th gear AT (DS) (started around 1800 - 2000 rpm to shift 5th)
+- 60 deg
Stock with standard maintenance and recalls
Hood up
+- 5-8 min. between runs (car left running)
42,500 miles

i didn't record the boost, frankly because i didn't want him cutting into the hose line. and i am not up to speed on how to.

i guess what i am really looking after; adding the mods, doing another run by the same shop/person/dyno/environment etc. and see the HP & Torque difference.

any thoughts and or advice to dyno runs would be appreciated.

400+ HP & Torque on my 2008 535i

I know I don't own a 3, but I do have the N54, so I just wanted to add my experience.

I want to thank Terry and SpecialtyZ in Chatsworth, Ca for there time and expert help.

Terry, well what is there to say that hasn't been said already, but for All those out there who are looking into tuning there BMW, N54 and N55, this is your guy (this is my opinion due to that I have the JB4 ) talk about support, he is there to answer your questions and today ( Feb 10, 2012 ) was no different if emailing or on forums, he was supportive and patient and we had a great day, well at least my wife and I did. ( Terry or Mike can chime in if they want )

Here my info

2008 535i E60

Tune:

JB 4 - Alpha Firmware 2-7-2012
BMS DCI

Extra's:

Eisenmann Exhaust: Race

Fuel:

91 Octane - 40% ( California and there low octane, BOO !! )
E85 - 60% - just going by there quoted 105 octane, so don't hate on me

FYI - Been running 50/50 for the past six months with no issues

For this Dyno:
When I fueled up I had around 1-2 gallons left, when I added 9 gallons of E85 and 7 gallons of 91.

Here's the file

and

Here is one Video of the Dyno Run Action !!

Did back to back dyno runs using COBB stage 1 aggressive and then COBB stage 1 aggressive and the ETS 5" IC.
only other mod is the K&N Drop in filter.
I picked up 18whp on lower boost after Installing the ETS 5" IC

I might not be reading this right but did you lose power with the ETS IC?

Interesting spread between dyno brands. I got 314whp pure stock on a DynoJet which then showed +51 with the JB4 on Map 2.

The shop who did the dyno told me it usually runs lower than the dynojet numbers. I got the same number after 3 runs. 51hp thats great how much does the jb4 cost

Because of all the differences its really the HP spread from the base line that counts not the raw number.

$479 but its best to get it with the special usb cord so you can hook it to your PC for free firmware upgrades, custom programming & log downloads from the JB4. Its $509 if you buy them both at the same time.

You made 400 whp with a tune and dci? That might be some kind of record.

Nice! Why did the boost lower though? I'm assuming it has to do with pressure drop. I also noticed similar power gains with the CX FMIC, but without the boost loss.

I assume it was the pressure drop and the colder air allowing better timing to give more power.
Unfortunately I got less than desirable results using the stage 1+
Not sure why I made less power, but maybe the forum members can chime in on todays results.....

Finally hit a dynojet the other day. I was pretty happy with the numbers. Mods are in the sig but for you iPhone users here you go:

JB4 + FBO + Meth (60/40)
25% e85/75% 93
55 additive

My car dyno'd at 257.7 stock on a dyno dynamics. Yours seems really low. I have heard though that those type dynos are easily screwed up by the person running the dyno. You may want to get a second opinion on a dynojet.
