Weird FM Radio station names

My 2010 E92 w/ iDrive shows some really weird names as the FM Radio stations it displays; e.g., "Miami's", "Radio", "n", "DJ", "hook", etc. Also, the frequencies of the stations are intermixed with names.

Any idea how to show just frequencies, or how to show legible names? Also, can I rename the station name in Presets?

Found this, but not sure if it really works yet...

In Basic Menu (the gold colored screen with the labels of the directions you can push idrive knob, to get here push the knob in the same direction twice) of Control Display, press (hold down) the Controller for 6 seconds. Hint: The help text flashes briefly when it is ready.(my help text is off so this may not happen for you)
^ Turn Controller 3 increments clockwise.
^ Turn Controller 3 increments counter clockwise.
^ Turn Controller 1 increment clockwise.
^ Turn Controller 1 increment counter clockwise.
^ Turn Controller 1 increment clockwise.
^ Press Controller to confirm.
^ Enter "Settings" menu
^ Select "RDS" from menu and you can turn it off, this disables being able to ever see song information though. On the bottom row of information on idrive it will always say FM XX.X.
enable/disable audio system RDS function

yes, things are weird with RDS enabled on my '09 as well. Haven't had enough free time to really research if there is a real fix other than disabling RDS?

What's the pushing and the holding and the turning supposed to do?

Beats me..... Seems just turning RDS off is the key.
