Exclamation Bmw Warranty Wont Cover???? Why

So guys i have a 07 335xi sedan. I got an engine malfunction light reduce power. Yes yes when we hear this they say its the HPFP. But this time its not. They call me and ask if i have a chip on my car. I said no i dont. WHich is the truth my car is bone stock besides cosmetics. so they said ok no problem. Then they called me back saying we found out it is ur cam shaft. SOmething is wrong with that. But here is the problem. Abt 5 months ago i had the lux 5.0 installed with the kit that keeps your signal light off. Now while installing that kit we accidently cut the wrong wire. So we put it back together electric taped it. Now Today they were working on it and found that wire that i cut and now are accusing me that i had a preformance chip in it and that thats why i am having these problems. They are also saying that my warranty will not cover the work on that car. What do i do???? its a lease by the way.... should i ask them for the code error so i can check it out if it is a tuner code??? I really need them to fix my car and get it back but i dont want to pay for something that i dont have.... any ideas or help guys???

Where was the wire that you repaired? was it in the ECU box? I haven't done the light mod that you have done. If you cut the wrong wire and it is related to engine managment then you need to further back up your story/truth that you have never installed a tune. Do some research and kinda play dumb when you pass it along to the dealer. You give them a bunch of info about how every "tune" out there doesn't require you to cut any wires. See what they have to say then...

You cut a wire = you modded the car = denied warranty.

not technically...the issue has to be related to what is wrong with the car for the warranty to be denied...

+1 I'd go to another dealer, and tell these guys to stick it. They're just trying to weasel their way out of this...and want you to pay...BS.

your light mod is not related to a problem in the cam shaft and since you've never installed a tune, you shouldn't worry. If the repair on the wire was legit, then there is no reason for them to deny you the work.

I'd go to another dealer and play dumb if they ask anything about a tune.

This is a tough one. I call BMW directly and point out that this wire has nothing to do with the problem.

If I were you, I"d give up on the dealership you're at now and take your car to a different one. Strictness regarding mods varies greatly from dealership to dealership.
