I've been down in England the last few days and i remember know how bad it is down here.
Cameras are everywhere, police vans, speed cameras and VOSA vans too. Staying close to Alton Towers all the local villages all have plenty of cameras. They are all placed at the foot of hills just looking for the odd driver to creep over. It wasn't places that looked a bad place to speed. Just likely places to catch people. |

So you thought you would do nearly twice the legal limit.

The road may have been straight but as others said it seems very unlikely a B road has a straight long enough for you to come up behind the cars, pull out and get up to over 115 and then still have a long straight to pull into.
Also it's always risky passing two cars if the second one pulls out without looking to pass the one in front and even if he did look with you appearing at that speed he may not see or misjudge. Sure the accident wouldn't be your fault if he didn't look but if you are dead it doesn't really matter who is to blame and if someone in the other car dies then it's death by reckless driving on your plate which is a time behind bars. |

115 on a B road, you deserve everything you get in my opinion.
I could have been cycling along there with my kids. We all speed, but in the RIGHT PLACE. |

On a serious note, I know it was a stupid thing to do but whats done is done, but can anyone honestly say they don't give it some every now and then?

I do have a 335 for sure, never had it at the speeds you talk about. I accelerate hard up to legal limit and use the power for overtaking but can't really remember anything over 80 in quite a long time.
That's why I have no points! I reckon if I already have 6 points clearly on two occasions I would be pretty careful. The fact you have been caught at least twice before is not going to help if this goes to court. Others with high speeds and no convictions sometimes get off light but you will be viewed as someone who hasn't learned from the previous lessons. |

I don't ever see why someone needing their licence is a valid defence and that not anything to do with the OP rather it's a general comment. If I was a judge I would expect a person in that situation to be more responsible and take more care of their licence especially if it wasn't the first time that they had been caught.
Sounding like a right old fuddy duddy git I know but there has to be responsibility on the roads and responsibility for our actions and decisions. |

Why the hell do you own it then? You can get a 1.2 corsa to 110. Why bother having a powerful car? Gods man. If you are such a goody good then why not at least get yourself to a track day or strip run or something and treat that poor poor car to at least one proper drive. Or sell it. Mega.

127mph and 'at times accelerating away from the following unmarked car' netted me a 2 month ban, but that was with a lot of grovelling.
And be aware you may make the local press if you go to court and a slow press day! They did however post a pic of a brand new Porsche 997, when mine was several years old!

I have a mapped 335d, and I can't remember the last time I had it over 80. There is no real need for speeds in excess of this. 60 is the limit, driving at 70 is dangerous enough, but forgivable IMO. 115 is downright stupid though. Surely the 2 cars you were overtaking must have been fairly nipping on if you needed to get to that sort of speed to pass them? |
