Car stutters randomly while at a redlight!! Weird...

So I've been having this problem for quite some time...it comes and goes...comes and goes.

It's weird and the car will stutter while I'm sitting at a redlight. Almost feels like the car is about to die or as if it's running out of fuel.

The stutter will usually last for 2-3 seconds and then stop.

I've had my car taken in for service about twice since it's started happening and they've found nothing...no codes...no issues (but they weren't looking directly for it).

Has anyone experienced anything like this? I searched and found nothing...

Car is a 2009 E92 335i, 30k miles.

I have a 2009 335i Sedan with 45K miles. Started with same problem, so I decided to get a walnut shell blasting of my intake valves. That did not fix. Problem started getting worse and occurred during startup as well. Finally got misfire code on cylinder 5. My injector was replaced, problem solved. It can be a number of things (plug(s), coil(s), injector(s), or carbon buildup in intake, and potentially other things too. The initial focus should be on plugs, then coils, then injectors, followed by carbon buildup.

+1

You can buy plugs for $100. Change them out and see if that solves the problem. If not, consider coils and injectors.

I had the same problem, the dealership could not replicate. But it feels like someone just bumped your car for second.

I've had these symptoms on two occasions. Once it was a coil. The other time it was an o2 sensor.

Its too bad that dealerships dont replace based on feeling but rather what the computer tells them. Had a big argument with them not too long ago in regads to this nonsense.

No codes, forget about it

Had a similar problem a while back after no codes thrown i figured it was the O2 sensors, had a knocking sound on start up and rough idle once warm was fine

Fuel consumption was awful regardless
