Brake Performance review

I ordered a brake kit - 4 x slotted and drilled rotors and 4 x ceramic brake pads plus hardware (Pad Clips, Pad Pins and Caliper Retainer Springs), all for under $400 from Brake Performance. I did a bit of research because the price seemed to good to be true, but turns out they are legit - they machine their own rotors etc. I also read a number of favorable reviews on the internet.

I had everything installed yesterday, and so far so good. I'll update once I have more experience with them. I love the look!

Not sure the link will be removed as they are not a sponsor. Are you unfamiliar with the concept of a "search engine"?

They also offer slotted and dimpled - they look drilled but the dimple preserves the structural integrity.

Update: after a few days, I could feel a slight vibration when I was braking. The shop that did the install confirmed that there was a slight vibration due to the rear rotors. I contacted Brake Performance customer service and they immediately rushed out a replacement set of rear rotors to me - no charge. Excellent customer service.

Great products at very inexpensive prices and great customer service. Highly recommended!

Well, I don't know, out of a sample of 1 you received disfunctionnal product. Their efforts on customer service is commandable, but I don't know if that deserves the praise you are giving for the product itself.

True, but the vibration was very slight so perhaps I was being picky. Still, the price was VERY good compared to other options. Do a search on the internet - other car owners also have good things to say.

So...did the new rotors fix your issue? Did you mic both the "defective" and new rotor to see if there was any variance across the swept area? etc.

Could have been an installation issue as well. For example: if the hub was not clean or the wheel was not torqued evenly. Also, perhaps the brakes were not broken in properly. Vibration could be associated with suspension as well. So, in short:
I WOULD NOT WRITE THEM OFF SOLELY BECAUSE THEY ARE CHEAP

Well of course, which is why I asked my original question. The deeper you dig, the more variables you can start to remove from the equation.
