^^^ This is true. Did mine a while ago, more responsive at lower rpm, very nice feel.

Did mines right when K&N released the filter for the E92. No regrets. The home made ram air scoop does help.

I removed the charcoal filter when I installed the new K&N and swoop scoops. A nice performance improvement from stock, but very little sound difference. May be a bit early to tell, but I believe that I improved by about 1.0 mpg.

"SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light on.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As of yesterday I noticed a "service engine soon" display. I called the dealer/service who stated that this usually indicates an emmisions issue.

I have removed the charcoal filter and added the K&N.

Has anyone else had this issue ???

I have had my charcoal filter removed for at least 60k miles and have never had a SERVICE ENGINE SOON light.

Never had a CEL with this or either aftermarket intake I had on my car.
Maybe a dirty MAF sensor>?

ya u got the right point. one of my friend has the same prob cuz of the dusty charcoal filter.

its the gas cap bs i get a cel all the time it will go away code 4006 i think

I did not change or do anything. The light has gone out, and has stayed off for several days thus far.
