My E92 got 33.2 mpg over 115 miles into Boston

Drove into Boston today and set the computer when I left. Kept up with the traffic on I-95 at 65-78 and got 33.2mpg over the 115 miles, including the last part actually driving in traffic into Cambridge and parking. I thought that was pretty good (7000 miles on the clock and A/C was off because it was nice outside).
Only got near 29 on the way back with much worse traffic and AC on... but filled up with gas near home and the computer says 472 miles to next gas stop. Anyone seen over 500 yet?
This is pretty amazing for an engine with such power.

I'm concerned. I think that you need to have your right foot examined. It's too light.

Just kidding. Nice mileage! I haven't done that well.

Have you noticed your mpg increasing as more miles are put on it?

LOL Just call me lightfoot... no I don't usually get that good a mileage but the traffic was flowing with no opportunity for really going for it.... oh yes and I got a warning from the cops yesterday so maybe that made a difference to my mileage

Yes - I do think it has but don't have scientific data, it seems to be 2-3 mpg better than new

My car's computer says 21.x mpg, an I like to floor it in first sometimes. Strange. I'm not disatisfied with it of course, not by a long shot, but this is in my E90. I've reset it a few times a long time ago and got about 430 miles left on a full tank.

I'm getting exactly the same mileage out of the N54 (N54B30) as I did with my M62 (M62B44).

On my loaner car 335i, I have gone through almost 2 tanks of gas in only 12 days and 310 miles... somebody wanna do the math on that?

I litterally floor the car almost 80% of the time until I reach my desired speed.

Wow, that is great mileage! I used to make that trip a lot from Boston to Hartford, and I averaged 28-29mpg in my E36 M3 doing about 75-80mpg.

Watch out for those Connecticut Staties...big time assholes and the tickets are big dough! I received a ticket for 85 in a 65, $300!

I recently drove from Salem, OR to Redwood City, CA in 7hrs 45min, and got 22.5mpg. My trip computer showed an average of 84.5mph for the trip, including two stops for gas/food, and many acceleration runs after getting past packs of cars (usually from ~60mph back up to ~120mph). I was pretty happy with that.

Connecticut state police are the WORST. I respect the police and all they do for us but the CT troopers are seriously out of control. To make a really long story slightly shorter, my sister's friend got pulled over on 74 in Tolland (right outside the troop C barracks) for DUI, he blew over the limit so they took him in. Ok that's fine, drunk driving is stupid. So he sits in a cell for a few hours then they tell him he's free to go so he calls my sister to come pick him up. She gets there and before they will let her take the friend they ask for her license. The cop goes back to his office, comes back 10 minutes later and says it checked out. She goes to take her license back and he says she has to take a breathalizer first. She says no, she's not drunk (keep in mind it's like 7am and she's in her pajamas cause she was just getting up to go to work when he called). So finally she walks the line and whatever, passes everything with ease. She goes to get her license again and he says he wants to run it one more time. He goes back to his office again, comes back 10 minutes later and tells her that her license has been suspended since 2004 yet somehow he didn't notice this the first time he ran the check??? She says it's bullshit and he threatens to throw her in the holding cells with her friend, then says she can't leave her car outside and since she can't move it with a suspended license he's going to have it towed. She says she'll call her mom to come bring it back home (who lives about a mile away) and he says no, it's being towed. He writes her up for driving with a suspended license and gives her a court date then lets her call her mom to come pick her and the friend up finally.
Fast forward a few weeks, she shows up the court date with documentation of everything she had, proof from the DMV that her license wasn't suspended at all, etc. etc. blah blah blah long story short the judge tells her the entire CT state police is corrupt as fuck and drops EVERYTHING on her and she STILL has to pay $60 to get a new license from the DMV cause the asshole cop never gave hers back.

/end rant about ct state police

I'm getting almost identical gas mileage in my 335i as I do in my M3 which is about what I expected. 33 mpg means I'm not having enough fun...

Ive been driving this car much more conservatively than I have my other cars in the past. Hardly ever really romping on it. Still, on the highway I havent been able to get over 22mpg. This sucks.
