Decisions on Buying a BMW - I need help!

G'day bimmer world!

Ive always had a little passion for BMW's! Ever since visiting my aunty, uncle and cousins over in perth! The whole family have BMW's! A little on my back story.

So my first and current car, Keep in mind im still on my P's, Is a Ford Falcon Ba Xr6 ute. I have done quite a few things to it. Mild cam, intake, full exhaust, Ipad built into the dash, Custom built staggered rims. (I've done everything I ever wanted to do to it) I got it running 206kw and its more than any kid my age should have. So of course i've lost my licence 4 times now. Im a "dickhead" I know... I have an impulsive behaviour.. (Im working on it though)

Anyways, I'm planning on selling it and buy a BMW and I really need some opinions and help on what I should buy. I can't decide on what to get. Its either a 320i, 325i or a e60 525i. I can't really decide, but mechanically how are they when they get into the High km's?? Im talking around the 160-200,000kms?

I need a car i'll be sensible in, that wont get me in trouble with the law, but most importantly for my age, Pick up girl's in! Hahaha

335i no contest assuming you can drive on Ps all Bimmers are expensive to maintain and it only goes up with mileage. Think of it like having a hot but high maintenance girl friend

1. buy a 335i.
2. register and insure in your parents name
3. insure it in their name with yourself as a 20% driver so it doesnt increase your premium.
3. lay low on mods that would draw attention to yourself.

i let my gf drive my car with p plate display and she gets away with it

335i fanclub: unite!

Judging by your options I see you have a budget of $10-15k. E60's are nice cruisers, spacious, but aren't too fun in corners. The 323i/323i would be my pick. 320i have some issues with burning oil, so if you find yourself inspecting one go over it well. The x23/25i will have ample power and you won't feel like you've downgraded too much. 320i will feel slow as.. you'll probably sell it within a few months after buying. Find an Msport model if your budget allows.

323/325. You'll be happy with it, not much power but enough fun, I know when I had my 323 I enjoyed it...Until I got off my p's...

320i you'll forever be replacing tappet cover gaskets and vacuum pumps. And is underpowered dull car.

Get a manual e46 330Ci. I had one and it was good fun, and didn't cost much to maintain.

Otherwise, there's not many P plate options that will compare to your XR6.
Was it 206kw at the wheels?
