Thumbs up Best Curb rash repair in SoCal

As you some you might know, I just got my BBS RGR on this Fri and unfortunately I didn't inspect the wheel closely when I left the shop, so as I was washing my car this weekend, I noticed some scrap on the rim edge, most likely caused by the mounting machine  (This also happened to be the shop highly recommended by Tirerack) By then it's too late to go back to the shop, knowing they'll most likely deny any damage for the car. Anyway, to add insult to injury, when my friend and I were taking off the back wheels, he accidently put a scrape right next to one of the lug hole Talk about bad luck. So I searched around for wheel repair and came across this guy Son Tran on the M3 forum and decided to give it a try. He does wheel repair work for Ferrari dealers and celebrities like Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno..etc Anyway, he came out to my work, did the repair in little over an hour, not to mention his rate is very reasonable. The most important part is, his workmanship is AMAZING...by the end, I couldn't even tell where the damage areas were..not to mention he was able to perfectly color match the Diamondblack on the RGRs (Most wheel repairer have a hardtime color matching it) Bottomline is, this guy is great and I am just referring it to you guys base on my own experience and countless other satisfactory result..great stuff

Nope, he repaired it on-site and with the wheel on. Excellent job, it's been over a week now and still can't find the original damage marks

Call him up and he'll give you a quote upon inspection. it all depends on the damage though. All I can tell you is, his price is very reasonable

I think it will be based on how bad your damage is and where on your wheel it is.

For my damage: He cleaned the wheel, initial sand down...then looked like he resculpted with his sander, and smoothed it down. Cleaned again, then color matched my wheel (hypersilver), and finally he clear coated.

No filling at all!! He did it while my wheel was still on my car...impressive work man...impressive.

All done in about 30 minutes.

His price is based on a few factors:

1. travel distace--does he come to you or you meet him. He only does mobile work. I just happened to meet him at a place where he was already doing another vehicle. So this was a (+) for me.
2. how badly damaged is your wheel. My damage was not small, but it was at an easily accessible location. So, again...a (+) for me.
3. how many wheels is he doing at one time (basically: the more wheels, the less per wheel). He did 2 of my wheels ...the 2nd one had a <1 inch area that he fixed as well. So...(+) for me.

When I previously asked around-- other places would quote repair prices easily in the $150-$200 per wheel range (can be more for high end wheels). I can't really disclose his final price on here---he asked me not to. Does not want to affect what he charges companies/dealerships/etc if his hook up prices are documented. He does alot of work for luxury vehicles, and does command a much higher rate for those.

But rest assured, that if you just tell him you were referred by a fellow member of E90post...you will get a hook up rate. It is WELL WORTH IT, he is very easy going. You will be happily surprised on the work, and the price!!!:rocks:
