Cobb: First Impressions...
Just finished installing the Cobb AP Stg1 93oct (6MT, bone stock) (previously JB3 map5).
Drove around the parking lot for a bit to make sure everything was working. I'll get to test it bit more tonight on the drive home. First impressions: Driving around the parking lot (5-25mph) the car builds boost very quickly, almost too quick. Like theres no partial throttle. Again this was a VERY limited drive so the jury is still out. Definitely feels like it'll be faster in a straight line compared to the JB3 map5. Drivability ??? time will tell. |

I will stick to stg 1 91 oct on really hot days specially if your bone stock and the difference is not that much anyway, I prefer 91 oct over 93 oct for daily driving.

I'm going to keep it on 93oct map for the near future... I want to see how solid this tune is. From my understanding this tune was made/tested in Texas so if it can handle the heat and humidity there our temps should be a non-issue...

Wow, im really impressed, after further driving the power delivery is very smooth and just keeps pulling til redline. I'm going to run a few datalogs on my drive home tonight, but from glancing at my boost gauge car is maintaining about 14-15psi of boost throughout the power band. I can only imagine what Stg2 will be like. |

Not really the throttle mapping and boost control is horrible for anyone that prefers a linear throttle.

I assume you're using the new 2.03 map? I am finding it to be a bit more refined (even though there werent supposed to be any changes for 6MT cars) than the 2.02 map was...
I was having problems with throttle closures with the 2.02 map - really annoying. As far as I can tell, that's gone with the 2.03 map. So far so good, although the standard 2.03 map is still really non-linear when it comes to throttle mapping. I haven't tried the 2.03 alternate v2 yet though, because I hated the previous version... I've run the 93 octane map 100% of the time this summer and haven't had any problems even with the stock intercooler...not that I try to do a lot of WOT pulls back to back, because I don't lol
