I am working on a 2001 cutom painted ACR VIPER with the Chrome BBS rims..... it came to me with light - moderate Black paint overspray - this is going to be fun to finish.

I will have pics soon - but this is a sharp car with a tough paint job - Whomever painted it did a good - not great job looks like they fell down on the wet sanding but won't know till I get at the clear coat.

Here's what I've done so far for a delivery for Friday:
Complete:
1: 2 bucket Wash
2: Masking taped.
2: 2 nights of Heavy claying. LOTS OF overspray. (The Hood is GI-Normnous)
Next steps
3: Isopropynol rub down
4: Menzerna Power Gloss Compound - CCS Purple Wool
5: Menzerna SIP - CCS Yellow
6: Menzerna - FA or Micro Polish -CCS White/Blue
7: Jestseal - CCS Black
8: Wax with 50/50 - 2 coats time permiting....

Any thoughts on the above and on the best ways to dress up chrome aside from Chrome polish....

Here's to the first exotic detail..... definitely a step up from run of the mill nice cars..... LOL

Again any tips would be great - This guy run a restoration company and I may have a shot at getting his business based on this detail and his T-bird coming up.

I would recommend going with an orange pad and SIP, as yellow pads are just as aggresive or even more so than purple foam. They also generate much more heat and make burning the paint a higher possibility, so I would stay away from them completely. I actually think purple wool finishes better than orange pads in most cases, while having a bit more cut. Following your powergloss/purple wool step, I would try both a SIP/purple wool and SIP/orange pad comparison, and see which results in a better finish while removing the compounding marks. Then go with that around the car. Follow that with 106FA and a white pad as you said(blue has the least amount of cut, use that for jetseal rather than the black pad).

If you want to have an even better finish, use micro polish(FPII) with a black pad to jewel the paint. After that you will have a lot of polishing/compounding dust, so I would just rewash the car. You can spray the isopropyl alcohol on the panels to remove the polishing oils before washing each panel to ensure a clean slate for the sealant and to inspect your polishing work. Don't even wipe the alcohol off, just spray on a panel and then wash it as you would normally. Finally, you may actually find it easier to apply jetseal by hand, I know I do, and I believe it is even recommend to do so for better bonding to the paint. Good luck and post up some pics!

I went with the Orange Pad and SIP - it is pulling the color Perfect.... Drying some white pads for the FA - I have RD micro polish - was thinking of jeweling it with that.....
