I installed the bmw performance alcantara gear boot/hand brake lever & knob yesterday, along with the mtec license plate globes.

The alcantara doesn't quite match atm, but eventually when I can afford it I think I'm going to go with genuine carbon fibre trims and maybe bmw performance recliners if I can sit in one to make sure I fit!

This shall be the last pic taken with the oem rims on, the 313's shall be getting installed this week hopefully!

Thanks mate, yes burger MS 10mm F & 15mm R spacers.

If I could do it again I would go with 15mm F & 18mm R BMS spacers though I shall see how I go with a 265/30 rear tyre shortly!

great diary of mods!

I'm keen to do some of the thing you've done too but I'm not that mechanically minded so hoping I can ask you for some tips in the future.

Well I had the Goodyear F1 A2 tyres fitted to the 313 rims today.

I decided to just wack the rims and tyres into the back of the calais sportswagon, have the tyres fitted to the rims and then fit the rims to the car myself, as I would have been struggling for room to fit everything in the bmr, and partially because I don't trust anyone to be fitting the new rims to my car!

Last night I gave the rims a coat of nanolex premium paint & wheel sealant, this provides a very slick high polished surface so that any road grime brake dust etc literally slips off which makes keeping the rims clean so much easier.

I haven't driven the car yet, but those rear guards are looking pretty damn full now with a 265/30 tyre (I'm guessing the F1's have a squarer sidewalls, the pirellis were more of a stretched fit which aids in clearance!)

The next mod is to fit those LCI taillights and catchup with mrtanz for some coding

Now that looks really nice! The rear end is filled out heaps!

What are the specs on the rear wheels Dr Jekl? Standard offset + your spacers? 9.5" wide?

I think I'm just going to do a front M3 Rep bumper, I don't mind the rear bar a sis, and the side skirts look very similar imo

Yes just over 9.5" wide, and now she scrubs during corners and mild dips with just me driving

Looks like you won't be needing more spacers lol ?

Try a guard roll to get rid of that scrubbing?

And the 313s are 9" wide aren't they?

Yup, yup & yup!

I might remove the spacers 2nite 2nite & try and get the guards rolled 2moro whilst I'm Sydney.

Or perhaps I can swap the 15mm spacers to the front and put the 10mm's on the rear and not have to roll the guards...

The 313's look sublime Shane. They fill out the guards nicely without being too aggressive. Are you coming to Eurofest on the 25th November? An Aero 335i front bumper who suit this car. Please don't spoil it with an aftermarket M3 front.

What are the Goodyear F1 A2 tyres like on the road? Much road noise, grippy?

Yeah mine rubs too at the rear on mid bumps - worse when you have someone sitting at the back. I've got 12mm spacers for the front and 15mm spacers for the rear. Fortunately I don't ferry too many people around.

Nice rims!

Cheers Rob, I would like to but I will be in Sydney this Fri-Sun then next Sat for the advan dyno day, so its a tad much to head back down yet again on the Sun unfortunately (Plus I have a xmas party the night b4)

Hmm I love the M3 front too much, I would love to go oem but they don't fit!

The F1's have been amazing so far, the very first kink in my street I could feel the difference as there is a lot more feedback through the tiller, and they are very quite & a lot smoother (I deliberately aimed the car at a few cateyes etc on the road, more grip, braking under normal driving there is a noticeable difference also!

The only downside is that they dont look as good as the RFT's in the respect that the profiles look meatier, and I'm now rubbing on the front ever so slightly due to the squarer sidewalls of the Goodyears (the pirellis had a rounder stretched profile)

Have you rolled your rear guards? How are your tyres and inner guard linings looking now? I hate chewed out tyres!!!

I dunno why but the first initial drive the car seem to scrub more, driving on the same road the 2nd time around it didnt seem so bad... hmmm

You might be rubbing on the rear fender lining. It deforms every time the tyre hits as it is not a real stiff plastic. Have a look inside the wheel well where the rear bar meets the metal of the wheel arch. There is a bolt there that stick out a little bit and that is covered by the plastic fender liner. That area sticks out further then the rest of the liner and might be rubbing against the tyre. It will deform as the tyre keeps hitting it, reducing the amount of rubbing you might hear.

...or it might be just rubbing against the wheel arch itself.

No I haven't rolled my guards. It doesn't really rub that much unless I go fast over a mid bump or dip (which I try to avoid). Do you have stock suspension? I've got the stiffer suspension setup so that may also make a difference?

After a few rubs, you'll just get used to it. LoL!

I'm pretty sure its rubbing on the wheel arch itself, there isn't much in it a slight roll should do it I reckon!
