Yes it does. I can't remember the part number but I definitely have it installed and it works great.

Hey. I have a 330xi and I was wondering whether or not an SSK exists for this car. I've been searching forums for a few months now and still havent found a clear answer. If you guys can help me out, that would be great. Thanks

Question

I'm getting stuck on steps 3 and 4
Quote:
3) Use two flat screwdrivers and twist clockwise and release the plastic cup.
4) Lift the shifter up as far as it will go while still connected to the linkage. The short shifter sets up on the aluminum bracket. See below or picture 24 and 25 of the attached pdf file.
I turned the plastic cup clockwise and then tried to just yank the lever through so that it looks like pictures 24 and 25. However, it doesn't seem like it wants to budge. Is this another situation where I just need to pull on the lever harder or should I try prying it out with a flat head screw driver?

Thanks.

UPDATE:
ok looks like just didn't turn the plastic cup far enough. Popped right out after I turned it further.

I finally finished this mod! I have an 2007 E92 328xi and used the 330 short shift. After I got the plastic cup out the hardest part for me was extracting the circlip without losing it. This is very important because like the others the clips I bought from BMW would not have worked so I needed to keep the original. Since I have large hands it was difficult for me to work in such a small space. So what I did was:

Clip Removal: After step 4 I draped some fishing line onto the clip and then dripped some krazy glue on it to bond them. Once it dried ( 30 seconds ) I was able to push off the clip without fear of dropping it.

Clip Install: I tied the fishing line to the clip since it was now out and accessible. This is where I got creative. I then took a skinny piece of wood ( like a chop stick ) and then krazy glued the top of the clip to the end of the stick. This way I could easily guide it down through the narrow shifter entrance.

I also aimed the shifter the opposite way ( so leaned toward the back of the car ). I found that when I put it in 3rd it was way too close to the radio and 2nd was straight up. The main reason I installed this lever was to shorten the distance it moved to 1st, 3rd, and 5th so installing it the opposite way worked perfectly. However, as a previous post mentioned, the result is not night and day but is noticeable.

There are 3 shifter kits at Tischer, one for the 330, one for the 328 and one for the 335i. Which one do I order for my 2007 335xi, the 330i?
Thanks!

25 11 0434219 is the part number for the lever. I recommend buying an extra circlip or two because I lost the factory one the first time I did this. The part number for the circlip is 25 11 1220379.

I got a new 335i and I'm trying to do this mod for the second time but I'm stuck on getting the rubber boot out. I don't remember having so much trouble with that damn rubber boot. It looks like the outside lip of the boot was tucked under the metal from the factory on the left edge. I don't know if that's why it's so hard to take off this time around but it's a real PITA and my fingers are raw from pulling on it.

What short shifter kit are most people using? The BMW SSK or different one. If using that BMW SSK does anyone know the part number for a 2008 335xi or is the same part with the 335i?

I was looking at the EVO3 ultimate short shifter made by UUC. Anybody using that

I was actually wondering about the UUC kit myself, which lead me to this guide (http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/EVO3_IN..._USSE335XI.pdf). These instructions are for the 335i, however either way it looks like with the UUC kit you need to replace the carrier (pg 10 of that pdf). No way you're doing that without dropping the transfer case.

Okay; so I am trying to do this mod and I am running into an issue. I am able to get the bushing rotated and loose but when I pull up on the shifter it does not come up far enough to get the bushing to come out of the aluminum cup before the linkage below hits the bottom of the cup. I did order a new bushing but I would rather not destroy the old one taking it out.

Thoughts?

Here are a couple pics. The first is after the bushing is rotated a d unlocked but not pulled up. The second is when I pull up on the shifter. It seems like they may have changed the shifter in the newer cars. Help!!!

Well I tore into it again today and I can confirm I have the shifter below installed (with the stubby bottom end). I was able to wiggle my finger under there and there is VERY little space between the bottom of the shifter and the top of the transfer case. I think this is why I have such a stubby shifter. If I were to try and install the short shift lever I am pretty sure it would end up hitting the top of the T-case and not work at all. Not sure if this was a design change for the newer cars (mine is a 2011).

In any case I am boned. I will not be able to install this lever. If anyone is interested in buying a brand new 330i short shift lever with a new bushing and two circlips let me know! You should go and confirm you will be able to install it by checking to make sure when the bushing is loosened you can pull it up far enough to get it out of the cup.

Confirmed EASY Method DOES NOT WORK ON 335i

The Confirmed EASY Method (by xdrive)- only works on 335xi. The shift configuration is different on my manual 2008 335i. Under the car is the only way to access the "Clip"

The lever, 25 11 0434219, is no longer available searching multiple parts stores. Does anyone know of a replacement?
