Please be careful out there!

So I was just driving back home on the 101 and wow. It is hell out there. Saw a car spin out and hit the center divider...facing oncoming traffic. Then another car was flipped on its side.

I went over 50/60mph and due to the flooding/heavy rain and winds, my car started to drift and I felt like any second I would lose control and my car would skid.

These are by-far the worst conditions I have seen and as I was coming home, I saw the CHP ahead going side to side, in what I believe, about to close down the freeway temporarily. I quickly exited and got on the other freeway on-ramp to avoid this .

Anyways, just wanted to post this message to let all you guys know to drive safely and cautiously.

Take care.

-PJ

It's crazy out there... the 118 is horrible... tons of water in the 3 lanes nearest to the center divider.

LA drivers are by far the worst drivers under weather. I know its wet and slippery but if you want to drive slow and be safe then stay in the right 3 lanes, there are 5 lanes on the freeway. Or yield to a faster car instead of hogging the fast lane and purposely closing the gap. All this add up to some pissed off driver weaving in and out. I almost witness an accident in front of me from someone passing from the right and the person in front me changed lane without looking.

Seriously, what is the point of driving slow when you don't signal or check before lane change. I see the same drivers doing 80-90 when it's dry so it's quite ironic that all of sudden they want to be safe.

I always use the middle lane when it's raining hard. It's the least likely flooded.

Word!

Had to vent, I am just frustrated from my commute. Last year I was rearended 3 times - in one accident but 5 cars - on the 405 because of rubber neckers. Talk about gangbang.

Everyone needs to drive safe, be vigilant, and leave the attitude at home.

This is why I didn't drive at all today. Looks like I'm going to be staying home all weekend. At the most, some minor driving on the local streets.

And yes, from what I've observed..as soon as it starts to rain, people just speed up.

They're saying that this is just the beginning, the worst is suppose to be in the early AM hours.

On the bright side, we don't have it as bad as those who are running cold air intake, lol.

I don't think we've seen this much continuous rain since the winter of 04 or 05.

seriously the rain was so bad tonight. i was driving down van nuys, towards the 405 entrance, and there were two cops completely blocking off the street, a HUGE block. so my friend and i were forced onto the 405 and as we merged back to the 101n, i forget which exit, but it was also completley blocked off. and on my way home i was driving down tampa when all of a sudden i feel as if i hit a small speedbump on my right side when in reality it was just a HUGE puddle which looked just like pavement.

It's not that bad here in Irvine. People were driving safely though much to my surprise. No lane cutters, or shitheads speeding.

+1... on the freeway I couldnt go more than 50/60 because there were a lot of puddles and it felt as if you were hydroplaning (spelling?)... seemed like you had NO control so I slowed down a bit.

so glad I escaped the cops or I would be held up for hours
