What is the internal volume of the door board (assuming it is sealed). What is the available mounting depth? Can you pls PM me a price for an e90 for a set of door panels only, no crossovers, no drivers. Thx!

It's wide open. The door panel gets cut. Drivers use door as free-air.

I fitted DLS R4s to a previous E90 and they are slightly too deep and protrude into the window area making the window catch it and sluggish.

Oh I see. So you basically have to destroy the OEM door panel? The true cost would then be the cost of the door boards plus the OEM panels, correct? If so it does not seem worth it for me.

yea, it's permanent. if you have these in your car and plan to sell the car, they're either staying in the car or you're replacing the entire factory door panel. for most people, they do it because they're keeping the car for a while. it's not for everyone. alternatively, you can have kick panels made for mid bass. before the door panels, i had 8" Dynaudio MW 172's in my kicks.

I think he means what are the crossover points and slopes of the passive 3-way crossover. I'd like to know, too.

can't find the info on crossover points/slopes on their website and I just looked at my crossovers and it doesn't say on it either.

As in how much of it gets cut in what shape?
Have you had in rattles or annoying vibration?

i'd say the cutout hole is roughly the same shape as the new door card but 75% smaller than it. so, it's a decent chunk that comes out. my door panels and the doors themselves are layered in STP Black Magic sound deadening. Nothing in my door rattles. It's like a lead brick.

Just installed the DLS UP4's all I can say is amazing. They were simple to install and sounds 10 times better than factory. If anyone needs them PM me I can get the hook up for all of us..
