soft brake pedal after brake fluid flushed and rear pads replaced

Yesterday I had the rear brake pads replaced with part number 34-21-6-791-938 due to the squeaking problem when acclerating. The brake fluid was also flushed since it was due for flushing according to the maintenance indicator.

Now when I drive I notice the brake pedal is softer than before and I have to press down harder to slow down and stop. It just feels different. What could be wrong?
