E85 no flex fuel wires

Good morning probably should have asked this question before i did it but... from reading the forums i kinda got the impression that you could run like 3 gallons of e85 with a full tank of 91oct without flex fuel wires. so i eventually decided to give it a shot. put it the jb4 in map 5 and holy crap does it move! i was very supprised at the diff! now i wanna get the flex fuel wires installed and add more e85!

Up to E20 is safe to run without the FF wires, after that you should be using them. Remember when figuring your E ratio that the gas you are using is probably E10 to start with, depending on the state.

There are calculators like this

http://www.intercepteft.com/calc.html

Should give you a rough idea of what it takes to get to E20.

Actual calculations aren't too hard either.

((Qty gas * % ethanol) + (Qty gas * % ethanol))/total amount of gas

Basically you are adding up how much ethanol and you divide by the total amount in the tank.
