09 E90 Hifi Sub/Amp install. Opinions on my choice?

Hey everyone, I have an 09 E90 with Hifi system. Buddy of mine just did his system today and I'm convinced but would really like opinions. Looking to run the following:

-2x Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1000F
-1x kenwood Excelon XR-1S amp
-1x AudioControl LC2i as my LOC

What do you guys think? Anything better for the price? That's the price range I would like to stay in.

Thanks

For less than 500 you can get technics harness and a JL Audio xd600/6 and do it yourself for an hours work it will get louder and clearer
From there you can just change the fronts out if your needing more or add a sub

The whole Hi Fi system is weak .

The whole Hi Fi system is weak .
So adding a sub to a weak system gets you a weak system with a sub.
But that's what many want these days.

There are many good systems listed
in the Hi Fi section of this thread

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323

By the way you never did state the price.

I know the system is weak but Its alright for me. Don't think it's worth upgrading hifi amp since idk how much longer is have the car. My main thing is to get a cleaner bass hit than the junk in there.

Settled on avoiding shallow mounts and going with either a single jl 12w3v3, or 2 (maybe 1) jl 10w3v3. As for an amp, not sure what to run so that's where I'm at right now. Plan on making a modified DIY/making custom box.

Done some research and have my eye on soundqubed(formerly audioque) q1-1200d amp.
http://www.soundqubed.com/Q1-1200D-Amplifier_p_30.html

Has great reviews and a good price. Any thoughts?

audioque made good subs but i would take a sundown amp over audioque any day.

here's a link to a sundown 1000:
http://www.woofersetc.com/p-9255-saz...amplifier.aspx

i also recall that amp being bench tested at roughly 1500rms

as for the sub, i like jl but they tend to be overpriced. look into image dynamics, i think they would out perform jl in sound quality

Great recommendation! I'm sold on the reviews of the IDQ's. one would seem to be more than enough and the amp has solid reviews behind it at a great price. They have a newer model but for another $100, it's not worth it.

Looks like 1 IDQ 12 in a sealed box will fulfill everything I was looking for.

Is the LOC still necessary?

yes loc still needed to give the amp signal. just make sure the loc has a remote out of it. makes things easier during the install

Hi,

New to the forum, Is Technic stilling selling the Harness. Is pm the only way to get a hold of him? I don't seem to have enough Posts to pm.

I Traded from a 2007 530xi to a 2011 328i. The 530 had logic 7, the328i has HiFi. I thought Logic 7 was mediocre, but is the HiFi is horrible! I like the idea of just upgrading the Amp as a first step.

Yes, the harness is still being produced. Keep posting here until you have enough posts to be able to send him a PM.

Alright so I'm getting ready to start building the system but I have 2 options: 2 ID 10's or a single IDQ 12. As far as the ohms, I'm not sure with the SAZ-1000D so input would be great. I will be building the box my self along with a beauty panel. All help appreciated guys

There is no need for a LOC if that Kenwood amp accepts balanced-inputs.

Contact Kenwood.
