don't use octane booster man, pick up som ms109 or have some shipped to your door.

Octane booster will foul your O2 sensor over time.

The only one I found that worked was Torco.

If you want temporary octane booster use Xylene or Tolouene (dont think I spelled that right). There are a lot of threads on it and they used to run the old turbo porsche race cars on it.

I'm almost certain the BMW manual specifically states not to use ANY type of fuel additive whether it be fuel injector cleaners or octane booster.

If you do & consequently develope a problem with the engine .......... well, yeah they're going to look for a cause & void the warranty when they find the reason to.

Toluene is already used in gas at your local gas station to raise the octane. I used to use it in my Supra all the time. I believe the formula was 5 gallons toluene, 10 gallons 93 octane and some marvel mystery oil and you got around 100 octane. Its not an 'octane booster' its more like race gas...you can find it at your local paint store

Toluene poses similar problems as alcohol fuels, as it eats through standard rubber fuel lines and has no lubricating properties as standard gasoline does, which can break down fuel pumps and cause upper cylinder bore wear...

What is a good price for MS109? Is running race gas too much bad for the lines or anything?

Depends where you are and all that. There are people paying a few dollars a gallon for leaded race gas while there are people paying much more for MS109. I know 100 octane at the pump here is ~8$ a gallon. I'm not sure the price at the race track.

The real problem is that to bump up the octane a couple points you have to run a 20% mix or around 3 gal to a tank of gas. At $10-15/gal for toluene - it's not going to be cheap!

Actually, they do sell a BMW brand of additive for older model engines. However, BMW does not endorse usage of a fuel additive within the newer vehicles from 2002 - present.

The interesting part is that BMW flatly prohibits the use of any fuel or oil additive stating that any damage incurred will void the powertrain warranty as a whole.

LOL, funny my SA told me NOT to buy that addictive from dealer, he said it is the same shit as we can buy from chevron gas station, he said chevron one is few bucks cheaper, dont buy it at part dept.
