This is how I routed the wire out of the ECU box. It goes out smashed between the rubber grommet and the ECU box lid, then under the rubber flap up towards the windshield, then out.
(If you push down on the rubber grommet you can create some wiggle room for the cable to rest in, it's not entirely 'smashed'.)

yes you can use it while the car is running. similar logging capabilities like the BT cable

If you can find someone with a chip burner yeah I just ordered the new chip didn't buy the burner sense you can now update the firmware with the USB cable.

For the guys running the USB Jb3 cable around the window into the car, did you find the 6' cable to be too short, as now BMS is selling a 5 dollar extension, another 3 feet?

Although I plan to route my usb cable towards the center console, I bought a 10' USB extension on ebay for like $4 which will give more slack to move your laptop around..

Route it into the glove box. It only takes 10-15 minutes

The cable will almost reach the passenger seat.
If you have a passenger handling the laptop, they can hold it up a little and you should be OK, but if you want to comfortably rest your laptop on the passenger seat, I would say buy the extension.

The simplest solution is to undo the subconnectors remove the ECU and you will see the hole and you will have a lot of room to work. The USB will go about 3-4 inches and then be under the glove box and you should be able to see it and pull it forward and then route into the glove box.

Still beta, but very far along in the beta process. Final version should be released in a month or so... No ETA. Basically it will be done when it done
