i actually brought my v-box. every run varies. sometimes v-box reads a little slower. sometimes almost the same. its pretty accurate.
Did it run about 2.5 mph slower on the Vbox than the track slip? Did the Vbox ever read faster than the track slip? ETs should be right on. Its the trap speeds that have read faster at Sacramento on my visits this year, compared to last year's visits. Let me know if you have any way to correlate your vbox run with the track time slip.

I don't think you need to short shift out of 1st gear, just every gear after it.

You should try that next time.

my trap reads 1 mph faster and got some runs that v-box ETs reads .1 slower.

Which run did you get the limp mode?

Do u shift with paddles or gear lever? I still have a bit to learn because my 1/8th mile traps area kinda low.

Shiv
gear lever.

Wow dude you're the man.

How the hell did you manage to cut 60fts like that on nitro 555r's ?
Was the track prepped that well or do you think the line lock helped that much ?
I have some nitto555r's as well and personally I think they're the biggest pieces of shit I've ever used..hell I think I see the same or better 60fts from my RFT's !
On my nitto's I've only seen one 1.8 60ft,two 1.9's..and a whole lot of 2.1's..2.2's

so how did you get yours to grip ? Btw awesome times
bro !

so hotrod, how do you explain this? you and mike/Terry have been dead set on telling people the track reads 2.5mph faster. if the track reads 2.5mph faster than yours and 1mph faster than his how can we call any vbox runs accurate?

The VBOX should read around 1mph faster than the track because it takes instantaneous time not average time. If they are reading the same, or the VBOX slightly slower, the track is likely reading 1-2mph fast. Anyway so many people race there now I guess it doesn't matter as it benefits everyone equally.

you guys have been preaching that sac reads 2.5mph faster than hotrod's vbox, he goes so far as to say "my vbox times of xxx would be xxx+2.5 at sac" yet someone elses vbox is only 1mph slower... it just seems as though the vbox's aren't as accurate as one might think from unit to unit...

most people know my stance on 1/4 racing (that is, I think it's stupid), I'm just playing devils advocate here since you guys have been preaching "2.5mph faster" as if it were a law of nature.

I think you may have just missed the argument and how each of them work. Read up on Mr 5s results for a good explanation.

difference maybe based on certain circumstances such as weight of the car, driver skills, weather, wind, ect. i wish i could have taken pics with the v-box reading so comparison can be made. 1-2 mph faster can still be possible.
