I highly recommend Darren at Alphawerx

Super nice guy and does great work. walked me through everything he did showed me all the old parts and what shape they were in etc...

He is very fair on his pricing.

He just completed:

Engine Flush
Oil/ filter Change
Spark plug change
DTML Pump Change

In a few weeks this is what I have Up next for him to do:

Brake Fluid Change
Transmission Fluid/Filter Change
Engine Coolant
Differential Oil

Another vote for Darren - went to him for an oil change, and he replaced a brake light that was out for free!

I was just in last week and had all the fluids replaced. Interesting to note that in replacing the manual gearbox oil, Darren didn't like how the gearbox felt after replacing the oil with the BMW specific fluid. He called BMW up and had them dig deeper to find a service bulletin that actually recommended a different fluid. What a difference it made as the gearbox is so smooth now.

I would like to get more feedback on Mike Lakeside. Is this the shop at Kennedy and Lawrence area in Scarborough, Ontario? How is his efficiency and price?

I am also interested to know more about Darren and his shop.

Thanks in advance!

For routine type of maintenance and fair pricing, Darren is the guy to go to. Very friendly. The only downside of thing is the garage he leased out is like a dump. Other than that, you can watch him while he is working on your car.

He does not have any fancy diagnostic machines like the dealers, nor does he have any modern equipments, such as wheel alignment or tire changer.

No complaints every time I go there for routine maintenance.

I went to Matt at BM Wizard for a brake fluid, power steering fluid and coolant flush the other day and he is knowledgeable and honest. The rate was good too! He's got a small shop but only works on BMWs. I recommend him for any service related to BMWs. Only thing he doesn't do is computerized alignments.

What car was this for? I'm not 100% happy after getting my MT fluid changed (is that the same thing?).
Curious if that bulletin applies to me too.

I just went to Leslie yesterday (the guy who does walnut blasts)

Him and his employee are great guys to deal with. I went int I get my valve cover gasket replaced, but ended up my valve cover was cracked.

Did a great job, labor charge stayed the same, and they got me the cover right away to continue with the work.

$300 for valve cover gasket. Can't complain

I'm gonna be back for the walnut blast, and any other work I need done!

Darren's got an upgraded shop that is next door to his old place...much more space! Since the oil change above, I've been back for:

Waterpump/thermo and coolant flush
Ofhg's and associated oil chg
Strut/spring install
M3 control arms

Fair pricing and a great guy to deal with.

I went to see Darren at DC Motorwerx last week. I went to get an oil and break pads change. For the oil change he gave me a choice of Motul or Liqui Moly.

For the break pads, after he looked at the car he recommended not to change the break pads to get the max use out of the current ones and save money.

He did bring to my attention about changing the cabin and engine filters showing me the old parts and its condition.

Super nice guy, knowledgeable and honest recommendations. Would go see him again.

Saw Darren @ DC Motorwerx about 2 weeks ago. My 335i was having rough starts, hesitation and sputtering on acceleration (light or heavy), and random stalling.

Took my car to Serpa BMW back in June for the same issue, they assured me that it was a faulty coil - so I gave them the OK to replace all 6.

Long story short, picked up the car and it was doing the same thing.

Darren was able to replicate and diagnose the problem and determine it was a faulty HPFP. He was very friendly and kept me in the loop the entire time. I will definitely be returning in the future.

It's one of those older service stations that have garages attached to them. Check street view, you'll understand.

Is it on the side of gas station?

I saw 3 BMW at the parking lot 1/2 hour ago when I passed by there.

Couple of nice guys that used to work at Speedstar then opened their own shop. They use Motul and their oil changes are a really really good price.

I've been to this shop a few times as I live in the area. Can't say I'm really impressed. You can get better work done at other indys and cheaper too. Lakeside seems like they charge dealer prices.
