Thanks for the pics, it looks like you went with JLA 8w0.......was there some limiting factor for using these as opposed to 8w1v2? The 8w1v2 are designed for smaller enclosures and that was what I was thinking of trying and didn't know if you had some factors that limited your decision to the 8w0.....Thanks for any information you can share

Eagerly awaiting the results once all is hooked up. I'm glad that you were able to get the SWS-8 subs in there with no fabrication required!

Finally
The SWS are direct swap for oem speakers, they fit with no modif to oem enclosure. Sound great, still have to go back to shop for amp fine tuning by next week. My amp is not so easy to setup http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48617 And the sound tweaking specialist is currently on holiday... But the SWS sounds very good, even better in 1 week time So the final setup as follow. JL CL441DSP to clean up the signal from the head unit Oem amplifier replaced with AudioBahn A4075HCT Oem speakers replaced by Focal 100KP front / back bridged to one amp channel. Oem subs replaced by SWS-8 bridged to second amp channel.

Sweet! good job etik i've been following this thread for quite awhile now. Any ways, i too bought 2 earthquake sws' and will install these once my car comes (hopefully by nov). one question though:
1. I can buy a mono-amp to power the 2 subs right? I dont need to replace the oem one? Meaning i'll still have the oem amp and the new mono amp...im looking into this http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/MTX-3...oductDetail.do. This will do to power the 2 subs right? |

The Alpine MRP-F450 works great with those SWS-8 also; I got a pair of SWS-8 -in 2 ohms configuration- driven by that amp, 200W rms each. |

I'm in a bad mood today... car just back for BMW dealer for USB retrofit... they installed a 'classic' ipod interface... they gonna redo the job but I've to wait for 3weeks to my new appointment...
I love the new sound, it's not too loud like a big sub in the trunk, actually it makes you fell the bass surounds you or even comes from the door speakers... of course if you turn it louder its time for a nice butt massage Still have to go back to - Hifi shop for sub fine tuning - BMW so they fit the USB interface - Kempower so they redo ECU tuning as BMW reflashed the whole car including ECU Everytime I touch something around that car, I takes me weeks to get it right... :sad0147:
