CIC Nav Problem

Hi guys, I'm new on hear so pardon my ignorance. I've just got a 2010 320d e91 with business navigation and I've figured out it is a CIC system but there's a problem. Most of the time the navigation doesn't work, showing a message that "this function isn't available at the minute". Sometimes though it does work but there's another problem connected to the navigation problem. When I put the car into reverse, the depiction of the car that is supposed to come up for the rear parking sensors on the nav screen doesn't appear, just the small balloon shape with the different colours for the warning. Hopefully the photos I've attached make clear what I mean. Has anyone any ideas? Is it a software problem or an expensive hardware problem? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Vorph, thanks for the reply. Mine, from what I can gather, is a CIC system fitted from factory.

Sounds like the perfect time upgrade to a professional system?

It's a strange problem. Have you tried a forced reboot/reset?

Hi Sensible, thanks for the youtube video, I'll give the reboot a go first. I know this question has been asked a thousand times but why cant I change my smaller screen for the wider screen? Is it just a software issue or a complete hardware issue? In other words, can I just change the screen and update the software at the same time?

You cannot simply change the screen unfortunately. It's a completely different headunit required.

Hi guys, tried the reboot but didn't work. how can I update the system? There is no USB in my centre console but there is one in the glove box. Also, I typed my VIN number into BMW update but nothing comes up. Is there an issue?

Hi guys. I know I'm flogging a dead horse here but I still have the same problem with my cic navigation. It seems even worse since I replaced my battery a few months ago (it doesn't seem to work at all now). I've went onto BMW support and manage to download an update but haven't been able to upload it on my unit as there is no "update software" option on my screen where it should be. Any help at all would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.
