The dealer can blame you if they want but you can protest with BMW NA and/or go to another dealer. A burnt coil at 3k miles may be blamed on launch assist or a money shift the rev limiter couldn't handle so beware. I know this because I had to replace 2 coils on my wife's 325ci and they claimed it was from abusive driving habits, which I asked them to prove. In the end, with so few miles, it must be defective.
on another note, why tear off a part of the stock system so early? Your drivetrain has had no time to break in. I would be concerned with longevity.

You can fix this yourself in like 5 minutes: go to an autozone and get them to scan your car for free to see which error code if is going off because there should be one. Mine said iginition coil 3 so i just bought one and replaced. And idk about the warranty.

if your car dash shows no lights on does that mean obd2 won't pick up any errors? is it possible to have errors in the computer but not to give a dash light?

Yeap same thing happened to me last year. I have a muffler delete as well, but I didn't have it at the time of the bad ignition coil. Recently I had it happen to me again so I pulled over and shut the car off. Could also be a misfire, that's what the second time was for me I'm gathering but after 10 mins I turned the car back on and it was fine. So whenever you get your car back I'd let it warm up for a couple mins to get some lubricant in the pistons, otherwise it's kinda bad to just start and go.

Just tell them you were parked in the hood or some shit and someone cut it off. I plan on acting dumb if they ask me but I don't really care

well just brought my car in for service, they found a oil leak where the transmission meets the engine. so they had the company my warranty is under or whatever and they cleared it under warranty and said nothing about the muffler delete. so you're good i guess
