Next, connect the pipe (rectagular pipe) in the front. There are two taps on each side. Make sure you look at the bottom portion and see how the bottom should fit. In the photo, there are two scews (red dotted circle) which I dont think you took them out when you did this mod. This photo came from Lux and he was doing something different so he circled them. All you need to do is connect the tube (blue rectangular in photo) and then tighten down any screws you took out. Dont forget to connect all the plugs back before starting the car. It is very easy, you need to relax and work slowly. Good luck again.

hey guys, thanks for the direction, but i guess i didnt get what my issues were across to u guys clear enough. my problem is that i removed the actual hose in the back. you know the silver ring that connects to the intake. that hose has another end with another silver ring, i removed that end as well. i managed to fit the hose onto the intake, but now the other end must go onto the throttle body. if i put it onto the throttle body, i cant get leverage to attach the other end to the intake, if i attach the end to the intake, i cant get the leverage to attach the other end to the throttle body.

ok, now I see what is going on (i think). You took off the back pipe to do the mod (green arrow). To be honest, I have not taken that out coz I am not doing the mod. But to make it easy and to give you room to work, you should loosen the power steering wheel fluid (yellow circle) to give you room to work. Dont disconnect any power steering wheel hose just loosen those bolts and move it out of the way. There are sever tubes connected to the power steering wheel fluid at the bottom so be careful not to pull those tube off or you loose all the fluid. GL.

ya i did that part already before u suggested still to no luck; i moved away the power steering fluid tube by unscrewing the two bolts. but now u understand what i did.

i was asking cuz some people removed that tube as well to cut off the silencer/cover it up. i was wondering how they fitted that piece back on.

I cant wait until that JB weld and epoxy gets brittle over time, and starts breaking off into the intake tract...

Guys, use a plug with a lip on it, so that it cannot get sucked into the intake in any way. (Realize this isnt the 335, so its only under vacuum, not pressure) If you use an aquafina cap, it has the ability to get pulled in in the absense of an adhesive bond.

Use some silicon to seal the plug in.

Well, I dont think I or anyone can do much help over the internet. You will either have to work at it or ask one of your friend with stable hands and might have better luck then you. Then take your friend out for lunch once everthing is hooked up.

On another matter, since you have it out, I highly recommend not doing this mod without the correct plug. It is quite hot in the engine compartment and over time, the plug and adhesive might break down and get sucked right into the engine. But that is just me and stated by RichP and Richwm as well.

i did this a week ago, and now my car seems to have gotten louder over the past two-three days...a nice deep growl at 3K-4K rpm. In my mind? I don't think so. I'm really starting to enjoy the sound.

Regardless of a adhesive bond won't the cap itself fall out of the hole and allow unfilter air in?

yes, not only unfiltered air, but enmetered air, meaning you'll get a MAF error, and the car will run terribly. I ordered a replacemnt pipe "intake boot" and may replace back to stock...just for the piece of mind.

So I have been looking to do this. I have been to 2 different Lowes and Home Depot and none of them have those plugs where the screws, nuts, and are located. They only had things up to 1 inch. I had asked them and even printed off pictures of what it was. They had no idea where I could find it. So where else can I try? I'm really fustrated.

Where else can I find a bloody plug?! If someone around them has these I'll paypal you the money. I've just been serching for days now.

I'm back to stock. In retrospect, I don't think this modmakes that much of a difference with stock intake system.
