Pairing more than one BT phone?

Hi, I'm picking up my E91 next week. It's Bluetooth ready and has iDrive.

Both my wife and I have BT phones (Nokia 6680) and I'm interested to know if the car can be paired with more than one phone. If so, what happens when we both get in the car with our phones and turn the engine on? Does the car ask which phone to connect to?

i tink your allowed to pair up to 4 phones with the car. the car will connect to the phone that is higher priority, as in the first that was paried to the car. i beleive you can switch around the list too...

Thanks for the information. At least there won't be any arguments about whose phone gets paired. I'll be interested to see how the selection process works.

Please let us know how the Nokia 6680 turns out to work with the car. I've read some posts here warning that the 6680 does not synchronize its phone book properly.

It just occurred to me that it ought to be possible to define which Bluetooth phone to connect to in the personalisation settings, or at least that the system remembers which phone was last paired with which key.

Can anybody confirm this?

It is not in the personal profile. when you add a BT phone, while pairing it lists them as numbers 1-4...this is the priority that the car should use when all the phones are in the car.

Thanks for the info. It's a shame though. I think this would be a natural for personalisation.

My 6680 didn't synchronise its phonebook at all. I have an old Nokia 6310i which I'll try to see if that synchronises.

The thing that I find amazing is that you can't add entries the phonebook manually. I've read all the handbooks and unless I've missed something, the only way is via the voice recognition system. Have I missed something?
