New 535d Ad
Anyone else seen it during the Olympic coverage on NBC? Cute yuppie couple where the wife says she's bored and needs something new. They get in the 535d and he accelerates and she says, "do that again". Have not been able to see it online.

Nice.
Edit: Hmmmm, I just noticed the spacing on the "d" away from the "535" on the first frame in that ad. I wonder if all logos are going to be like that. I like it because it is hard to distinguish the "d" from an "i" when it is so close to the model number.

N57 US spec'd engine has 413 lb-ft torque as compared to 425 lb-ft for the M57.
Side bar please: It drives me nuts to see a few here depict torque as ft/lb or other variants. Torque is units of force*distance or distance*force is okay too. It isn't the quotient of the two. Yes, this isn't a physics class but lets try to get it right. thanks |

But on the flipside, as you correctly point out, the variable vane single turbo is likely the only N57 we'll see in the US, so as a practical matter the other variants may as well not exist at all. Except they DO. And it makes me MAD. |
