Shadowline Trim stain, what is it and how do i get rid of it? (pics)

I noticed these stains around my shadowline trim this morning while opening my door, they are small but an eye sore. I tried to fingerlick and rub it away but that didnt do anything. Weird thing is it has a rainbowish shine to it in different lighting but at some angles it blends in with the trim and you cant see it. Is this a water stain? Please let me know how you guys would tackle this!

tried to get it at a different angle.

Thanks

That brought back ex memories. It looks like someone jizzed on your trim. Have you tried some brake cleaner on a tissue?

nah, looks like cosmoline residue coming from the trim if it is in fact oily

get a solvant like tarminator or megs body solvant or the like, maybe even an APC/degreaser on give it a go. you are going to want to add some sort of protection to the trim after you are done like 303, megs trim detailer, poorboys trim restorer

Thanks folks, i actually went to my kitchen, grabbed some vinegar and gave it some hard scrubbing, it eventually came off.

seemed like the best cost effective way.

I have the same thing in one tiny spot (it appears the exact same spot actually). I'll give the vinegar a shot maybe.

I didnt want to do anything to it that I would regret.
