Angry Scratched my bumper...can I buff and use touch-up paint to repair? [PIC]

Hi ppl,

I was doing parallel parking today but didn't realize the curb was as high as the top of the wheel well. I backed into the parking spot and felt my bumper scratching the curb hard....

Will I be able to buff it out and use some touch up paint to repair it? Can you guys give me some suggestions on how to buff and what kind of touch up paint to use?

Anyway, please see the attached pic...

Thanks in advance!

the best you could do would be to sand down the roughness and then try to buff it as best as possible. it would probably be about %20-30 better but not anything more than that , another option would be to paint it.

The bumper itself looks chewed up. To get it anywhere near "like new" again, I think you'll need a new bumper and paint.

thanks for the replies guys....

would a body shop be able to sand/buff/paint it without removing the bumper? and about how much would a job like this cost?
