Winter wheels and tyre pressure monitor

Hi Guys,

I managed to pick up a set of original 17" BMW winter wheels with Goodyear Ultragrip RFT's on in a cracking deal.

They have 6mm tread all round and I will be putting them on in a week or so.

Can you advise if I need to reset my tyre pressure monitor? or do I leave it as it is? I am moving from my 18" MV3's with RFT's to these 17" winters. Car is 325D Msport.

Thanks

If the light comes on then reset it; if it doesn't then don't. Simple.

Sounds simple enough. Sorry if my question sounds silly. Just wanted to be sure before i swap them over. Cheers

As long as your overall diameter is more-or-less the same as it was then nothing will need doing but it's a simple reset if it does

Once you have fitted the wheels and, most importantly, established correct tyre pressures you should re-initialise the system as per the manual:-
In iDrive go to page: Vehicle Info/Status/Confirm Tyre Pressure.
Start the engine - do not drive off
Press controller with 'Confirm Tyre Pressure' highlighted, then drive off.
