What r the effects any(pro's or con's) for changing it form 225 to 235 and in the rear I am running 255/35/18

The first number (225 or 235) represents the cross sectional width of the tire at its widest point in millimeters. The second number (40) is the tire's aspect ratio as a percentage. For instance, a 40-series tire has a sidewall height that is 40% of the cross sectional width. In the case of 225, the sidewall height would be 40% x 225mm = 90mm. A 235-40-series tire would have a sidewall height of 94mm, which translate into an overall diameter gain of 8mm or about 3/10 of an inch.

When you go to a larger diameter tire, it will affect your speedometer and gear ratio somewhat. The gearing would be slightly taller. This is why most people go to a lower aspect ratio when increasing the cross section width, especially if going +1 on the wheel size.

the 235s will be fine ... and it gives u a little more protection from wheel damage from potholes, bumps, etc.
