Harmon Kardon Door Speaker Grills.

My E92 has Logic 7 factory fitted, and after picking up the latest E92 brochure from the dealers I noticed the LCI now has Harmon Kardon lettering on the door tweeter grills.
Has anyone swapped these later covers onto their pre-lci? and if so how much are they?

Looks like they are item 13 on the Real OEM site.

Well mines got Harmon Kardon printed on the back of the speaker but not on the grills.
I'd be interested in these if they weren't silly money.

as i understand it.. whether its branded HK or not, its still made by HK.. so adding the grilles wouldn't really be misrepresentation of any kind.

Logic 7 is patented by HK and developed by them. My home cinema Is also hk with logic 7 (7.1 surround).

For home cinema that is fine but won't be 7.1 sound in the car.

well the logic 7 does have a centre speaker, front speakers, side speakers and rear speakers in the E90, so in theory, depending on how the DSP works, it could well be 7.1 sound. (or in the case of an E90, 7.2 as it has twin subs)

It won't be true 7.1. Logic 7 takes stero music and then processes it into 7 channels. An original 7.1 blue ray will have 7 channels plus sub and a 5.1 5 channels plus sub with centre anchoring vocals, right and left main sound stage and either 2 (for 5.1) or 4 for 7.1 surround sound speakers for backgrouns, ambience eg rain.

Do you definitely have L7 tho? You may have HiFi?

Harmon Kardon was a US branding from what i have seen and read.

I have a Logic 7 setting in the idrive menu, you can select surround or theatre etc..
