How much oil?
Hiya,
I've tried to scan through the manual... But can't seem to find out how much engine oil should be in my e91 57 plate 330i? Cheers Matt |

I always let the car sit for a while so as much oil oil as possible drains out.. Then I pour in 7 quarts.. Go for a test drive and check the e-stick, always shows the correct level.

It's that bs system you dumped on us ages ago and then switched to metric while we weren't looking. Bunch of bait and switch mofos.
No one here knows wtf a quart is. Don't even ask me how many quarts in a gallon. |

Ok I don't want to open a can of worms.... But here goes...
The garage only put in 4.3 litres as he thought it was 2.0... Now would the grade of oil for 2.0 be similar to 3.0? I don't mind tipping it up myself... I know it's the garages mistake, but would it make a huge difference? I've asked what grade oil was used... |

yes, the 2.0 and 3.0 uses the same oil
What kinda monkeyass garage looks in the engine bay of a 330i and thinks its a 2.0?! A quart is a quarter gallon. Oddly, there are two gallons, the US version which is 3.75L and the Imperial gallon which is 4.54L So my approximation above was probably wrong, as 7 US quarts is actually more like 6.5L rather than 7.9L |

Ah well... There we go... Mistakes are made... Luckily it's not too bad
Don't worry I won't top up to 7.9 litres.... Think it might be overflowing at that point!!! |
