Cobb flash now car wont start
I uploaded a standard Cobb stage 1 flash on my car during the upload it went dead half way through and went into recovery mode. So I went out and got a battery tender and charged the car overnight still dead as a doornail in the morning dome light wont even turn on. I then tried jumping it and the car cranks just fine but wont start. I connected the cobb with the car on the jumpers and it finished uploading the tune and no codes are present. Its been on the jumper cables with the other car running for over an hour and it still just cranks but wont start.
Prior to this the car has had no low battery warnings or issues with the battery going dead. Tried calling Cobb they are close until January 1st. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! |

Uninstall the COBB AP from your car, and make sure it can start. If all is good reinstall the AP again just make to have external power connected. Somewhere in their user manual it addresses this which seems to be related to older n54 cars

Thanks uninstalling it now to see if it will start. That would make sense my car is about as old as it gets with a 9/06 build date.
Update: It worked! Uninstalled it and started right up thanks BuraQ your a lifesaver. I will make sure and have the other car jumpers hooked up this time during the flash. |

Damn this scares me cuz I always flash my car and never want that battery to die. What kind of battery charger are u using?
And yeah if the flash gets corrupted then the car will crank and not start lol

I've accidentally removed key while changing maps. The cobb ap does a good job of recovering flash and allows you to restart the process without issues.

Had the car hooked up to the jumpers with the other car running this time during the flash worked great. Good alternative if you don't have at least a 10 amp charger.
Car is night and day difference so much quicker even on the stage 1 sport map only have 92 octane here. Going to add 2 gallons of e85 before my next fillip and use the aggressive map which should net 94 octane. |

If you are full bolt on I recommend trying the Cobb e30 maps

I am running cobb stage2+ aggressive, fbo stock exhaust for now, I ran 2 gallons of e85 on a half tank, car pulled pretty good ...day after my car shut off on me and threw a code for fuel pressure plausibility. I cleared the code twice and juss bearly made it home. my question is, with cobb how do u get maps to run e85? Or do I need you to tune it on e85 BQ?

If your fueling is not tuned for the % amount of added E85 yes it will throw a code and you will get a CEL You were runing the wrong map for the fuel you added. 2 gals of E85 to a half tank is almost E30. In Florida expecially Shell E85 has been tested to be E90. Your fuel trims were more likely maxing out that threw a code followed by a CEL Edit: Here is a site to tell you how much E85 your mixing http://e85prices.com/milesperdollar.htm (last table on this site) . You can added up to E20 on the COBB OTS anything more than that will aventually max out your fueling trims and throw a CEL Last edited by BQTuning; 12-25-2014 at 04:13 PM.. |

Would there be worthwhile gains adding e20 on a stage 1 aggressive tune?
Also I wanted to get a wedge flash for a 92 tune and and e30 tune with just dci. Do you feel the e30 tune is a good idea with just the dci as the only other mod? |

E85 will correct most timing drops when adding it to an aggressive map. For me I only have access to 91 octane so I can't run aggressive maps. When I add e85 the car loves it and I get no timing corrections and my fueling looks good. To really take advantage of e85 use the maps made for it. As for mods that all depends on what Cobb recommends for each map Always log to check for fueling esp with e85.

E30 not FBO is a waste, unless we bump timing up but keeping boost conservative. |

We only have 92 octane here so I used 2 gallons of e85 so I can run the stage 1 aggressive tune. Haven't done any logging yet on the car. Runs great and pulls hard with no misfires has fresh plugs.
